Rep Rangel: I'll Quit Congress If Dems Don't Retake Control of the House
Say what you will about Charlie Rangel, but the guy’s willing to put his career where his mouth is.

Rep. Charles Rangel, a powerful senior Democrat in Congress and the dean of New York’s congressional delegation, said Wednesday that he’ll quit Congress if the Democrats don’t retake control of the House this year.

"I’m a poker player and I’ve had good hands all night long. This is all in," Rangel said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I would not put everything on the table if I thought for one minute we would lose." <…>

"Hell, if we don’t take back the House, then the Democrats would go down in history, saying that there’s no group in the world that can grab defeat from the jaws of victory," Rangel said. "It just seems like America is so frustrated and fed up like I am and if she’s not then I may have to say maybe it’s me."

1. I tried doing that last week too; quitting my job. But. But...
Democrats not only need to take things back; but live true to the name. Get away from Clintonizing; no more NAFTA. No more offshoring. Globalization is a sham; or if it is of benefit past this "low low prices" bullshit, nobody's bothering to expound. I've put some dots together and some of it I can fathom into a positive mindset - but why? That's not my job... and I'm more inclined to go along with it if we were just told up front, as a nation of citizens, what is to happen.

2. There is zero chance the seat would go R...
...and the man is 75 years old.

I don't see a problem.

4. That's just frustration talking
It feels like going to a plantation before the Civil War and trying to get the slaves to revolt and hearing, well, massa only beats me two or three times a day. That ain't so bad. And when he rapes my daughter, he gives her one of his daughter's old dresses, which is right nice. And on and on and on.

Repukes make excuses for this pack of jackals over and over and over. And a lot of independents do to. And as we have seen in Mr. Lieberman, even some Dems excuse these nazis every damn time.

5. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Charlie Rangel will
finally head the Ways and Means Committee, after all the abuse he and the Democrats have taken from my retiring Congressman, Bill Thomas. All the stupid things Congress has been debating since Bush took office is because of Bill Thomas. Here's to Charlie and that he can get our Congress back to working on things that matter.

6. That makes me want to cry!

We need you, Rep. Rangel! Please don't leave us. We know how frustrated you are, but we NEED you!

I"d leave if I could, also, so I can't blame him.
