I just sent this to my senators urging a ceasefire:
I am writing you to urge that you demand an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon. There ate now over a million refugees, hundreds of people - mostly civilians- slaughtered, demolition of the Lebanese infrastructure and an escalation of tensions that put us at risk for WWIII. Your strong voice is needed to stop thedevistation now before there is more heartbreaking suffering.
I support Israel's right to exsist and defend herself, but the totally disproportional attacks on Lebanon constitute an illegal war of aggression, not an act of self defence.
George Bush's collusion with this attack from his sppeding up of arms shipments to his delaying tactics to stall any ceasefire are unconcionable and are aiding and abbeting the war crimes being committed there.
Since you are known as a strong supporter of Israel, your call for a ceasefire would be viewed not as anti semetic but as humanitarian and in keeping with your staunch support of international law, which Bush thinks he is above.
There have been enough innocent deaths on both sides. Please help it end now! Call for cease fire now!

Sincerely and in the spirit of peace'

Carolyn Nikkal, Ed.D.

If we are a friend of Israel then we should stop her now.

Friends do not let friends commit war crimes.

2. Amen. And that too.
I cannot comprehend how Bushco with zip for a mandate can so aggressivly push the PNAC agenda. They are clearly using Israel to do the dirty work for us this time. How is this possible? where is the outcry? Are most people just being Good Germans and pretending that an illegal war of aggression is not taking place?

3. We know our media is managed. I'd be interested to know
what the situation in Israel is. Because we have seen a very very healthy peace and reconciliation movement there, haven't we?

But unless we dig for it, we'd never know it was there.

If I pull on my tf hat, I'd say that our government has twisted some arms here. Because it is so clearly what Cheney et al want to happen.

It's as if they want to set the world on fire. Takes my breathe away.

4. I agree. Israel should simply fire a rocket into civilian areas every time
they are fired upon. They should also just bomb a bus whenever one of their's is blown up. I agree with your call for proportional response.
