What would you think of someone who's finances looked like this.
Say in one year they earned:

$500,000+ in salary
$1.5+ million in capital gains
$275,000+ in dividend income
$225,000+ in income from investment partnerships

Would you think this person was a pig, or some sort of parasite?

1. I would have to see distributions ledger to judge, i.e.
hit men: $50,000
attorneys fees: $250,000
political bribes: $325,000
income taxes: $25

Take your pick: pig parasite crook saint

55. The person may get PAID that much. I doubt that they EARNED it.
Let's stop using the word EARNED when we're talking about these types of compensation package. That leads one to think that the person works very hard and has a very special skill and that the work has great value. The word EARNED has a positive connotation.

That's not necessarily the case. The person may get PAID that much for any number of reasons, many of them bad.

Let's start using the more neutral term PAID.

How on earth does that make sense.

I came from a very poor family, and don't make that kind of change, but I do OK.

4. I think Joe Lieberman would be doing much better in the polls if
he'd come clean early on and admitted that his grandstanding ego-driven bootlicking for the Bush administration generally and the Iraq war particularly, were lapses of instinct, and that he intended from that point forward to honor the tenets of our party's mission.

But he failed to do that and 2 major polls now show him way behind a superior Democratic choice in Connecticut.

Go, Ned.

23. It depends on how he treats those who made him that money
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 04:09 AM by Selatius
The greatest entrepreneurs would never be rich without people working to make them money. A good idea is one thing, but good workers to put that idea into action are another.

If we're talking about the fucking CEO of Wal-Mart, for instance, he's a fucking parasite, for he knows not the fact that without the workers, he could not make that money.

You treat the workers with care, or you will suffer the consequences, and you will have to deal with socialists like me and unionists at the end of your day coming by to talk with your workers.

The $500k salary is especially nice.

So what?

Aren't liberals allowed to be rich too? I think they are, but are expected to give a hell of a lot more to good causes. Do you have any info on the charitable / public donations of this person?

It's good manners to shake the president's hand as have many, many people in Congress over the years. Good manners does not need to include kisses and embraces.
