Huffpo: Detective Story: Has Rove Been Guiding the Lieberman Campaign All
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rj-eskow/detective-story-has-rov_b_26908.html

Everybody's talking about Karl Rove's very public offer to help the Lieberman campaign. In fact, it's such a public offer that it raises the question: Has Rove been guiding the Lieberman campaign from the very beginning? That alleged "website hacking" could well be Rove's handiwork - and there's more.

Before you say the idea's too farfetched, consider this:

Lieberman's campaign has been designed from the start to inflict maximum damage on the Democratic Party.

Lieberman's statements from the beginning have made it clear that, in his mind, any dissent from Bush's war policy constitutes a) "weakness on national defense," b) is a clear sign that Democrats "lack national security" credibility, and c) means that Dems "have yielded to the extremists" (despite the fact that new polls reveal those "extremists" agree with 60% of all Americans about the war).

2. I tell you what..
.. the media sure love Joe. Every interview with and commentary on Joe is like a one-party love fest.

Ned Lamont can hold his own but he's definitely not a media darling.

3. His campaign sure looked more Rovian by the day, didn't it?
I have ZERO doubt there has been contact and support
all along; the only question is 'how much'.
Did KKKarl manage it daily, or just hand it a few pages
from his playbook?

Inquiring minds want to know!

5. I especially liked this one
quote from the blog entry in OP:

Or how about this one - a close parallel to the website incident?

"In 1986, just before a crucial debate in (the William Clements) campaign, Rove claimed that his office had been bugged by the Democrats. The police and FBI investigated and discovered that bug's battery was so small that it needed to be changed every few hours, and the investigation was dropped. Critics suspected Rove had bugged his own office to garner sympathy votes in the close governor's race."

Now consider how quickly the Lieberman people were willing to accuse the Lamont people of sabotage as soon as the incident happened - almost as if they'd been prepared.

6. Joe's eleventh hour "hacking" hearkens back to Rove's "bugging" in 1986...

Mr. Rove's roster of alleged dirty tricks goes back at least as far as the 1986 gubernatorial race in Texas, when the Republican candidate, Bill Clement, squeaked out a narrow victory against Mark White after Mr. Rove, who was running Mr. Clement's campaign, said his office was bugged. Evidence pointed to the possibility that Mr. Rove had planted the bug himself.<snip>

An eleventh hour dirty trick, if played right by the media, could have tipped the scales in this race.

Query: Is Holy Joe as devoted to GOP campaign tactics as he is to the GOP's policy stances?

8. The way those Lieberman "supporters" were in that cafe and
verbally attacking Lamont, in a way reminded me of those "Florida voters" who stormed that office in 2000 that turned out to be the assistants to various Repug congresspersons / Senators.
