Not just in war but in politics. Stir everything up and then turn it upside down. The people lose the ability to rationalize. Everything is distorted. Joe Lieberman is used as a tool for a new terrorist alert. The people of Lebanon have about 10 days of food and energy left. The hospitals will be shut down. Bombs are dropping in Baghdad once again. Egyptians are on the loose in this country and nobody knows where they are. A massive bombing plot is uncovered in the UK. Meanwhile, our leader is on vacation but will make his way to a fundraiser. How are common people supposed to figure this stuff out?
That's why soundbites work - people can't be bothered with checking facts. And there are so many sparkly distractions, it's easy to simply trust whatever an "authority" says about all that political garbage. Who's going to be the next person kicked off of Survivor?!
