Baby food! Freaking baby food!!
These guys have gone way, way too far.

They've banned liquids. I don't know about you, but I *always* take liquor on flights, usually those little airline-sized bottles, so I don't have to pay the extortion prices for a cocktail. No liquids allowed on planes in ChimpCo's New Murica.

They've banned deoderants, hair gels, and tooth paste. This is ridiculous. If they ban them in containers people will just have explosive arm-pits, hairdos, and teeth. People on flights will stink, have bad breath and bad hair in ChimpCo's New Murica.

Baby food!!! People are being made to eat some of their baby's food before they can bring it onboard. But what if the exploding baby food is already eaten by the baby. OH NO!!!! It's *exploding* *babies* in ChimpCo's New Murica.

Have these looney toons ever considered to stop terrorism by interdicting the terrorists and letting the rest of us go about our business unharrassed? No, I don't suppose that's the way things will be in ChimpCo's New Murica.

Stop the madness and get these idiots out of office.

1. What is a bit of inconvenience next to National Security?
You must be siding with the terrorists. Why do you hate America? You should be arrested for treason and given a Carribean vacation at Guantanamo!

TERRA, TERRA, TERRA!

3. One thing's for sure: Bush won't be inconvenienced by any of this.
Not in Air Force One, flying across the country at the taxpayer's expense so he can raise money for his Nazis. He'll inconvenience everyone else, but not himself.

4. How Many Days Have They Known About This?
several according to ABC. Apparently they didn't much care about flights prior to today - which means this is all a coordinated effort to maximize media exposure. KKKarl knows just when to unleash the fear factor and it would appear the British govt. is more than willing to cooperate with KKKarls marketing plans.

5. On the bright side:
if they ban baby food (and formula) from planes, that means on all but the shortest flights we won't have to listen to screaming infants (unless mom is a breast-feeder) anymore.

Having been subjected to shriekers on numerous cross-country flights, I would find this refreshing.

<tongue-in-cheek, but halfway serious>

9. That's it!!! Ban breast feeding, too.

Explosive breast milk!!!!!

It *does* remind one of the Monty Python 'Self-Defense Against Fresh Fruit" sketch.
(Homage to another thread this AM.)

12. Oh, you can have liquor
You'll just have to buy it at over inflated prices onboard the plane.

This is really to help improve the failing airlines: force the passengers to desperately need several drinks, and then force them to buy those drinks from the airline.

10. All I'm thinking is the massive headache I'm going to have.....
...if I don't have enough water on that flight. I always take TWO of the big bottles of water with me because I dehydrate and my head will start throbbing. Now I have to survive with the measily glass they give me? Thank god my only upcoming trip is to Toronto. Anything longer than that and I'd be pissed!

13. That's my worry, too - I drink lots while flying. Maybe if we freeze it,
then it's technically a solid, so long as it doesn't melt before going through security. I wonder if that loophole would help.

And I bet they're gonna jack up the beverage prices, and no more free soda or water, either.

14. There is something about the density and consistency
First off, I think airline security is a joke, but a screener that I know told me that some substances get flagged because they have the same density and consistency of plastic explosives, so on the monitor in the system flags it. Peanut Butter was one he mentioned. Maybe baby food fits the bill too.

But everytime I fly, I sit and watch the screeing and think, if someone wanted to get weapons on board it would not be that hard. Just put it in the pipes or a stroller or wheelchair or cart. Or fake a badge and drive an electric cart through. I see pilots walk through the wrong way all the time. The never get screened. So dumb.

15. Poopy diapers flagged by Hometown Security
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 10:49 AM by longship
All babies in diapers will be sent through the explosive detection machines to determine whether they've eaten any explosive baby food and therefore might have explosive diapers.

In a related story, the Dept of Hometown Security today has listed farting as a weapon of mass destruction.
