Everyone MUST SEE "V for Vendetta"!!! NOW!!!
Watch the movie and then you can see just how similar the propaganda that is shown in the movie is all to similar to the crap the Cable "News" is showing us right now. Not just the propaganda, but the way that the "anchors" are acting. One can tell that those SOB's are just thrilled at this "terror alert" because they believe that this will help Bush and the GOP in the Fall elections.

It's just too upsetting to see what has happened to this country since * took over.
:argh:

1. I thought the political aspects of the film were "spot on", but
I could have done without some of the cartoon violence and the segment on degrading NP to make her strong (rather a misogynistic message)
Otherwise, quite good

10. That part bothered me, too
I'm not an "ends justify the means" kind of person. I didn't feel it was misogynistic, really, just brutal.

I still think that Star Wars Episode 3 is more of an indictment of the Bush administration, though. The fact that it hit the nerves of so many conservative columnists speaks for itself.

11. Huh?
"segment on degrading NP to make her strong (rather a misogynistic message)"

You're the only person I've heard from who saw it that way. The point was about freedom from fear, and that if you're not afraid then they can't control you.

12. I respectfully disagree...
The message came off that you have to degrade women to make them strong like men. Do you really have to torture your comrade to teach them to be strong.

I thought that part was offensive and unnecessary (in an otherwise interesting film)

2. The msm just likes to scare you. What's in your drinking water?
Is someone spitting on your hamburger at the drive thru? Anything scary = happy to them.

4. Actually, See "Brazil"
Remember "Brazil"? Random people disappeared as suspected terrorists, the random bombings, the torture, and who was behind it all ... ?

5. If you liked the movie, go read the graphic novel
that the movie's based on. There's much more depth in the novel about V's motivations and strategies that you can't cram into a 2 hour movie.

7. I know this and I don't have to see the movie!
TERRA TERRA TERRA is the name of their game. They think they can win that way...at the expense of the countrys peace and peace of mind. Fuckers! :grr:

13. make your own Guy Fawkes mask

Print it out on heavy paper, e.g., poster board cut to 8 1/2 x 11.

Or use it on a poster:

V: Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

V: People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

V: Fear became the ultimate tool of this government.
