New Book tells the truth about Giuliani.
In depth investigation of Giuliani's failure to prepare NYC emergency responders. Stuff many of us knew already, but it's good to see this in print...

(note-it's nice to see the NY Daily News hammering away at Rudy. They featured this big on the front page today. They also took the lead in taking down Kerik, the thug.)

snip:

Rudy Giuliani's image as America's Mayor is harshly questioned in a new book that takes to task the city's preparedness on 9/11 - with some of the most pointed criticism coming from current Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.
Kelly, who was dismissed from the post by Giuliani in 1993 and later reappointed by Mayor Bloomberg, offers several dramatic and remarkable observations in "Grand Illusion: The Untold Story of Rudy Giuliani and 9/11," by authors Dan Collins and well-known Giuliani critic Wayne Barrett.

Many of the topics Kelly zeroes in on have been documented in the past: Giuliani's decision to locate the city's command center next to Ground Zero, the site of a terror bombing in 1993, archaic radios that kept the NYPD and FDNY from communicating, and the general chaos of the tragic day.

But Kelly is unsparing in his critique, saying of Giuliani's decision to place its Office of Emergency Management Command Center at 7 World Trade Center, "It was just unwise."

2. Someone needs to tell the truth about this fraud. Here's also a
documentary that needs to get on Sundance or IFC:

3. The fraud is being exposed.
Recent book by the 9-11 Commission bimbos includes their admission that they let Giuliani off easy because of PR. Fucking idiots should have taken their role more seriously.

Ten years from now, maybe even five if we can win some elections, the "heroes"... *, Giuliani and others will all be exposed as frauds. Kerik already has been, and * is well on his way.

5. There were lots of heroes of 9/11, but Guiliani, Kerik and their ilk were
none of them.

The first responders are my heroes.

6. The first responders are my heroes as well.
And I blame idiots like Giuliani, Kerik and that slimeball Fire Commissioner of Rudy's for many of their deaths.

And the current plight of many of those people who survived but are now suffering and dying because of their exposure breaks my heart. Kudos to the NYDaily News for exposing this.

I cry whenever I listen to Springsteen's "Into The Fire". Or even think about it, like now. That song sears my soul.

I'm not ready to see "WTC". Are you?

7. Beautifully expressed.
No, I saw the trailer for WTC when I saw "An Inconvenient Truth" and I wasn't even prepared to see the trailer. I couldn't watch the film. (BTW, I live about a mile from Ground Zero.)

8. Thanks.
I live about 5 miles from Ground Zero. I think I'm not alone among New Yorkers when I say that day changed my life forever.

Yesterday, on NPR I was listeneing to a poet about my age reading some of his poems related to 9-11. I'm gonna google search him now and post links for you.

10. The poet is C. K. Williams.
Google yields a ton of links, but I could not find the poem I was looking for. In this poem, he criticizes the politicization of 9-11, but I did not catch the name of it.

He's teaching at Princeton, and he spends a lot of time in Paris. But he's basically a New Yorker (born in Newark).

In reading more of his poetry while searching, I have decided to buy his soon to be released "Collected Poems" (about 400 poems). His poems are very compelling for me.

12. First responders were my heroes too.
Giuliani did nothing extraordinary that day. His popularity is so overblown.

14. I know people who have met Giuliani...
They say it's not the same person that they saw in 911. The media portrayed him as a leader and hero. The person they met was a simpleton. You decide.

15. As a NYer, I decided a loooong time ago.
He's a simpleton, and likely a racist. As mayor, he nearly destroyed the NYC public school system singlehandedly, just like * is trying to destroy social security, etc.

His 9/11 portrayal (self and otherwise) makes him a fraud.
