3. I take these actions not as two seperate incidents but
two interrelated philosophies and goals of the * administration.

But the last 5 days?

2. They won't even see the light of day before the November elections
Somebody might actually read a bill they are trying to pass that contains those things and that would hurt the election in the fall.

4. Just like the Patriot Act? I hope you are right but
the first bill comes out of the Republican controlled house, hopefully the senate will stop it.

5. Once they get through this election, Bush doesn't have to worry
about another election until 2008. Bush doesn't care about anybody else, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

6. why not declare a national emergency
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 04:33 PM by IChing
Shooting and torture of civilians and the use of the national guard without consequence like Iraq?

His blackwell troops could handle the nasty stuff that the guard would never do.

New Orleans and katrina were not handled totally by incompetence to create chaos.
The questions of the states vs federal use of the national guard
and the use of blackwell troops were well documented. Was it a testing ground, maybe or maybe not?

Never the less, I still find that the two of these bits of news in the last 5 days as alarming
