Cheney Gave Lamont/Al Queda Speech-KNOWING-This Terror Warning Was Coming
Cheney gave his Lieberman/Al Qaeda diatribe knowing this terror warning was coming out
by Joe in DC - 8/10/2006

In today's NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/10/washington/10senate.html?_r=1&ref=washington&oref=slogin, Dick Cheney warned that the Lieberman loss would embolden "Al Qaeda types." It is reasonable to assume that Cheney, like Bush, knew about the unfolding scandal in Great Britain http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060810/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_5.

Think about this for a minute. It shows how evil the Bush/Cheney team really is. Knowing that this story was about to break, Cheney invoked Al Qaeda in purely political terms. Once again, Cheney is using terrorism for political purposes. The media should have laughed at him when he made his outrageous claim yesterday. Now, the media should be outraged. They were duped.

So Bush stays on vacation, Cheney goes on a political attack. Sums them up. Clearly, Cheney's motives were pure partisan politics. He choreographed his statements to be out there when this story broke. It's sick.

Instead of fighting terror, the Bush team is continually playing politics -- even with top secret info. That's one reason why Cheney's former chief of staff, Scooter Libby, is on trial. Bush and Cheney breach security -- and use classified info. for political reasons.

2. It's a known fact that,
this mis administration is only good at political stunts and PR campaigns. When it comes to governing they are incompetent and quite frankly, uninterested. Their agenda does not involve the good of this country.

60% of Americans are AGAINST this war, so Lamont is in touch w/ the American people; you are not. The rethugs must be so scared now that an anti-war candidate has won. Now the rest of the Dems can shout it out.

I will bet the rethugs are writing big checks to Loserman even as we speak.

4. I think it is time to call them out on this type of bullsh*t.
Terror and security are the only cards they have left to play, so they are making sure to take as great advantage of this incident as possible. I just pray it backfires and people see through the misleading lies and call out for change of direction-not the same old stay the course.

Where are our Dem's? Why are they not out calling for a new and more secure direction to fight terrorism. Why are they not saying that after nearly four years, Bush's decision to stay the course is not working? Senator Kerry was the only one I have seen reply to all of this, yet the repubs are falling all over themselves to get the media attention so that they can parrot their distributed talking points.
We have got to start challenging this administration on the claims they can protect us and the Dem's can't. It is obvious their way is not working.

6. Since I'm the only one that will ever ask a reasonable question
I guess I'll ask it again. I've asking it for years. No Dem leader and no one else ever asks it.

How does being at war in Iraq keep terrorists off planes?

Yes, there are bad terrorists. But what does Iraq have to do with that? Oh nothing, that's right. The terrorists are freelancers. It makes it a problem when you have no country to go to war with I guess. Thank GOD we ivented one.

14. My 15 year old daughter asked me that last week.
1. What does the attacks on 9/11 have to do with the war in Iraq?
2. Since we invaded/liberated Iraq why is there still terrorism?
3. If Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction why would he sell them to terrorists and
not keep them?
4. Why do people still think the war in Iraq had anything to do with terrorism or the 9/11 attacks?

All from 15 year old. I did not have the nerve or heart to tell her the FBI does not publicly attribute 9/11 to Bin Laden.

7. In The Next Cheney/Press Conference Opportunity Someone Should Ask.....
Cheney if he knew of this UK plot when he made his AQ statement after the Lieberman loss. Get him on record. He'll probably deny - but we all know that it will ultimately come out if he did know.

9. Of course he did
I heard on the news today that Blair briefed Bush on Sunday about the investigation.

Of course Cheney knew.

The terrorists were plotting this long before Lamont even entered into the picture. But somehow they managed to plan their activities to coincide with the primary in CT. Right. :sarcasm:

10. The whole CODE RED is purely a political ploy.
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 03:19 PM by mhatrw
Sure, there may be something to this "foiled terrorist plot." Just because they are constantly pissing on our feet and telling us it's raining doesn't mean that it can't actually rain.

But that's not the real issue here. The issue is not whether or not this plot is as full of crap as the MIAMI SEVEN. The real issue is that the Bush administration has once again teamed with our breathless chicken little corporate media to hype a "TERRA TERRA TERRA" story to kingdom come for strictly political reasons.

Scotland Yard may or may not have caught a bunch of dangerous would-be terrorists, and the timing of this may or may not have been orchestrated to the day. But there is one thing we know for sure, and that is that BushCo yelling "CODE RED! CODE RED! CODE RED!" about this already foiled plot was and is a calculated PR gambit. And our corporate media is, once again, more than happy to play Charlie Brown to BushCo's "TERRA ALERT" Lucy football.

15. Exactly! They play on fear. I am so sick of it! And to see Chertoff
makes me as physically ILL as to see Cheney or B*! His smug arrogance reminds me of his cavalier attitude during the Katrina catastrophe. I so hate these people. (And I hate hatred, but I can't help it! Forgive me God!)

"Democrat" did as Sore Loserman is ranking "Democrat" on the Homeland Security Committee. IMHO, he should be striped of this position by the Democratic leadership.

"An aide to Lieberman, who would have been one of the first Democrats to hear of the plot because he is the top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said the lawmaker first heard of it late Wednesday."

I can't for the life of me understand why, unless it's because he knows Bush and Cheney are committed not to catch him.

The nerve of that crap-weasel calling the majority of the American public "Al-Qaeda types". The 60% of the population that is against the Iraq War is in danger of being represented, run in fear!

Such is their contempt for democracy.
