What the hell are Chertoff and Gonzales puffing their chests out for?

Unbelievable.

These two have been strutting around the news channels all day acting as if they both personally slid down the fucking bat-pole and thwarted the terror plot single-handedly.

First of all-we didn’t have a damn thing to do with it. It was the Brits. Not the NSA wire tapping us and creating a mass database of our phone records. It was the British. Scotland yard, and Interpol, not the NSA and the FBI.

As much as the corporate media is trying to convince us otherwise, it was none of the Soviet style, privacy invading, rights destroying garbage, that the Bush administration excels at. It was good old fashioned police work. I expect this from the British. When a country has been hit with as many terror attacks just from the IRA as they have, you get awfully good at rooting out terror plots in the making. Unfortunately, the current bunch in charge of this in OUR country has a collective ego so massive, that they will just not be men about it and just admit that we could actually learn a hell of a lot from them.

But I digress.

One thing I will admit, those two have a lot of balls. Seriously. To come on a live press conference, and admit that “this has Al-Qaeda written all over it” does take a lot of guts. Especially in lieu of the fact that we were supposed to gut and destroy that very organization FIVE FUCKING YEARS AGO. Remember all that? Wanted dead or alive-fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here-root them out and destroy them at their very core-no where to run or hide-you’re either with us or against us? What was all that all, just a bunch of big talk and empty cowboy bullshit? The most powerful military and extensive intelligence network the world has ever seen, and they can’t even locate a six foot five Arab dragging a dialysis machine through the airports.

Sadder yet, is that the nutters have been climbing out of the woodwork today on this one. Not only have they not made any of these connections, but I have heard everything on knuckle drag radio today from “this is proof that we need to start an official list of races to start profiling at airports”, to “see the government DID need that huge list of all of our phone calls today”, to “let’s just nuke the entire middle east and build a giant wall around it.”

Do you know what I haven’t heard today on RW nutbag radio? How the fuck is Al-Qaeda STILL hatching plots around the world with absolute impunity? You know what else I haven’t heard? Any type of questioning on how Bush and Rummy cutting and running out of Afghanistan and invading Iraq has failed to stop terror at all. On the contrary, it has caused an increase in it world wide. All those dead soldiers. All those dead Iraqi civilians. All those families both here and abroad torn asunder, and for what? So Al-Qaeda can continue to work on plots the world over just like this one? Guess what, thanks to this incompetent group, there will be many more just like it in the future, rest assured.

Let’s just hope the British can foil some more of them for us
