One More thing that this Bush regime has taken from us
besides our money, of course.

The right to feel appropriately frightened.

With all the lies...the little boy that cried wolf so many times, it makes it difficult for some to grasp that we MAY have been a target of terrorists.
By doing that, it has made this nation extremely unstable.
Almost EVERY SINGLE OBL tape has been strategically released to benefit them politically.
Yes, the timing is suspect.
Yes, the attempts to link this to Al Quaeda are suspect.

But when you are lied to consistently and methodically, how do you change that?

I wish I knew.

1. The corollary to that
is the right to feel we can place a reasonable amount of trust in our government. Some amount of skepticism is always good, but I'm way beyond that now. I just don't believe *anything* they say. All this crying wolf they've done, to the point where they have virtually no credibility, has the potential to bite us hard in the ass. If Al Qaeda is real -- and I think it probably is -- if we've been lied to so often that we have trouble believing a warning of a genuine threat, there's a problem. And it's certainly the fault of Bush and Cheney and their neocon stooges, trying to scare us all the time to the point where we say we are tired of being scared and lied to. So now we have no way of distinguishing a real threat from some phony Terra Lert thrown out to keep us in line and them in power.

That's the worst betrayal of all.

I can't express in words how much I hate these bastards.

4. Well said ocelot. I'm so numbed by all the lies and betrayal that
I'm pretty sure my 'fight or flight' reaction has been killed off. Of course, maybe that's the real plan. Make us numb and when they start moving us into those work camps, we'll be too beat to respond. This stinks, I'm tired of having to live my life in a 'tinfoil' bomb shelter. Shame on all of them...may they rot in hell on earth.

2. That is an excellent point, Horse...
When you have never been told the truth, how are you supposed to believe it this one time?

3. Exactly. Even a broken clock is right twice a day
How are we supposed to dig through all the lies and Rovian plots to know which time it is right?
I hate this. I hate not knowing if I should be in the midst of preparing for something worse...or to be fearful for my family members...or wondering if I should be helping someone do something.
Bush and his gang of thugs have stolen the most precious thing from us--our ability to protect ourselves adequately.
They should pay...and pay big for this.
