George W. Bush is the
Anti-Christ. I do not know how else to frame this to be any clearer. I feel it in my gut. I have never said this about any other person. I am not being capricious. I am not being sensationalistic. This is the only time I will declare this.
I am finished. I have no art, I have no ambition, this sort of thing is nothing against this juggernaut. I am hunkering down until this obscenity passes.

9. The first time that I saw him I got that shiver down your spine,
never had it previously or subsequently. I told my bf that I felt he was the anti-christ, but I think there are several demons running govt's in the world today. Wasn't there something about the seven hills?

I know one thing, he and his minions are pure and utter evil and defy everyone of Christ's teaching in a mean spirited spiteful manner. They are most definitely filled with hate which is not of God.

22. I was an infant when Kennedy was killed, but it affected my family, I am
not particularly religious, but religion has affected me. This is the VERY FIRST time I have given this a serious thought. When I first saw *W* I was viscerally, physically, intellectually
APPALLED by his very being. He is evil. He is evil.

25. Like I said me too! I never really understood that saying about
a shiver down the spine, but it was a cold feeling that ran down my spine and through my extremities and caused me to shiver.
I never thought that I would actually feel like I had seen a REAL demon in my life (horror movie scary demons, but not a human version.). I wonder if people felt this way about Hitler, Mussolini, etc.?

29. That is a great question, because I have only felt revulsion for those
types in history. Anyone felt that a certain rotten historical or contemporary person was the you-know-what? As for myself, even before he was anything but a guv of texas I had a sense of evil horror when he came on the national scene.

20. First of all, George Bush is not THE anti-Christ...
though he is an anti-Christ. I prefer to refer to him as Legion, the man through whom many demons spoke. Bush is just a vessel for evil, not evil incarnate. I know it's hard to see that distinction but it makes a world of difference. If Bush were Evil incarnate, we could not beat him but since he is a vessel, he can be broken... all it takes is some new wine.

Have faith in Humanity. Every time a terrible tyrant has reared its ugly head, humanity has defeated it; but not by hunkering down and waiting for the worst to pass. Sometimes, you just have to face into the storm and command it to "Be Still". The forces of "Good" are at work in the world just as much as the forces of "Evil" and history has shown that Good always conquers evil. So take heart and don't be afraid. Fear is the tool of our enemy; it does us no good.

24. Good Analysis, but I have to disagree, it has slipped the ropes of
justice and unleashed its unholy power. I am not afraid, I am simply disgusted & disheartened. This is NOT about religion, this is about pure evil. Good is too good to defeat it on its own terms.

30. Not true.
There's something you need to understand about Good and evil. Good is beneficial, it builds up, it adds; an evil detracts, it destroys, it is cancerous. To put it simply, Good grows and evil consumes. If we can accept these as simplistic descriptions of the nature of Good and evil, we see that without Good there can be no evil. Because Evil consumes, eventually it will die because it will run out of sustanence. However if Good wins, it continues to grow; it's existance does not depend on evil. If this is the nature of Good and evil, we know Good will rule out becuase evil can't sustain itself. So your statement that "Good is too good to defeat it on its own terms" is not true. We may suffer evil for a while but Good will eventually win.

You also said that this is not about religion but on that I must disagree. The basic appeal of all religions is the further understanding of the powers of Good and evil as they battled throughout history. Every religious story is at its core a story of Good versus evil. Thousands of years of Good struggling against evil lay in ancient scriptures and forgotten texts. In those tomes, the ancient voices of our ancestors are telling us of their belief that Good shall prevail and evil will fail. No matter which book you read or what club your in, if your dealing with issues that are of Good and evil, you're dealing with religion. (Also, the anti-Christ claim sort of opens the door for a religious reply.)

You stated that you were planning on hunkering down and riding out the storm. That imagery made me assume you were wanting to do so out of fear. I for one have no intention of hunkering down. If they hit me, I'll stand there and offer my other cheek to them as well. I won't do evil to do good but I will stand in the way of evil as long as I'm alive. They may break this body but they'll never get me to give up my faith in Good. (You can take off an 'o' if you like, it's pretty much the same thing to me anyway.)
