Have you seen this country? I Miss America And I Want To Go Home!
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 11:25 PM by DistressedAmerican
Has anyone seen my country? It wandered off sometime in 2001 and I have not seen it since.

I'm really worried. It is over 200 years old. I don't think it can take care of itself out there all alone!

Please help!

Description:

It has about 250 million people.

We have a high standard of human rights.

We have a whole list of Constitutionally protected freedoms.

There is a democratically elected government.

Our military fights only when forced to (self-defense).

Our economy is strong.

We value free expression and open debate.

Our leaders are held to account when they get out of line.

We have social safety net for the poor and elderly.

When a disaster hits one of our cities, we evacuate them and do our level best to care for the evacuated as we rebuild.

It answers to the name "America" and/or "Unites States".

It looks something like this:

Please SOMEONE tell me you've seen my country! I feel lost and I want to go home! I'm getting desperate.

1. I think it was kidnapped by a dangerous religious cult...
...around the time you noticed it missing. Perhaps you can contact one of those 'deprogramming' agencies that specialize in rescuing brainwashed cultists.

5. I looked around Crawford this time last year.
I saw a bunch of other Americans looking for their country down there too. I have looked all over. I was looking in NYC during the RNC. Americans all over. America? Nowhere to be seen. I was looking with a shitload of people in Washington last Septemeber. Tons of Americans looking. Nothing!

Where could it be?

7. I used to live there
It was a great country full of compassion, creativity and concern. It had a great pedigree, called the Constitution, which I also can't find anymore.

8. Reminds me of the people looking for loved ones missing after 9/11

In a way, that's precisely what happened, tho it's arguable that the USA has been missing since the 2000 election.

9. Hey, I've heard of that place
I watched shows about a place called America from my home in Toronto when I was a kid.

Don't know what happened to it ever since a man named Reighgun (sp?) took it over. There was a brief flash of it during the period of Bill Clinton, the great statesman.

Does it even exist any more?

10. It has been hijacked by REAL terrorist
They are demanding a very high ransom, they want power, money and oil.

Many have tried to pay their ransom but the more we give the more they take. They refuse to negotiate, I think we may have to fight them to get our country back.

I hear there are some fierce fighters coming this November so hang in there.:)

12. I'm more than willing to fight.
This is my country we're talking about. Fuck them.

I refuse to negotiate too. I will not negotiate with terrorists. It just encourages them to do it again.

15. How the mighty have fallen.
America was the light of the world for many, many years. Now, under the "leadership" of a pathetic Monkey Man, we have become THE major source of evil in the world. This is one of the saddest stories in human history.

I must admit to a personal fascination with the decline and fall of great empires like Rome, Byzantium, etc. Little did I think I would get to live through the fastest such fall in history! What a treat.

17. I miss old America
She had her faults but she was home, I'd sure like to go home again. I've tried clicking my heels together while saying there's no place like home, didn't work.
I'm tired of living in fear of my own government, I'm tired of the smell of fear from my neighbors. I wish like hell that we could wake up from this nightmare, but, I tell you I'm so afraid that the games over, we're set on a course that is locked in and can't be changed.
So long boys it's been good to know ya.

19. this America you remember--it was hijacked
Edited on Fri Aug-11-06 08:32 AM by marions ghost
and is now careening along on a wild joyride with failed human demons at the controls. Cowering hostages swoon in the cheap seats, stripped of their rights and their body products. No response from NORAD which is busy tracking Santa. No heroes are on board. The best we can do is vomit on them.

Fasten your seatbelts.
