I'm hearing the same response from people I absolutely KNOW voted for Bush
Lately, whenever I approach my more conservative acquaintances and mock them for voting for Bush after I hear them complaining about gas prices, the lousy economy, the war, etc, they seem to be coming up with a similar response: "I didnt vote for him!!"

Seems like hardly anyone wants to admit they voted for him. Anyone else notice that?

They should really look into that. ;-)

3. It's the Republican way ...
to lie, deny, & refuse to take blame for anything bad.

celebration after bush won. i did not hear joy or exciting or rubbing it in. after the election i felt a sell shock feel by alll the many republicans around me that bush actually won. it was all surreal and no one said a word to me about bush win. no one. it was unreal. i was vocal prior to election. the only one for kerry. (very red area and in a christian school) and i did not see any excitement at all.

5. Here in Bushbotville, when I say that to Bush voters
They simply say, "Bush doesn't have anything to do with it." They always have an excuse for every Bush screwup.

7. Make up some stickers
you could do it in word or whatever on your home printer

Like High Gas Prices?
Thank a Republican

Put them on as many gas pumps as you can
right by the price window

10. That's a good suggestion, and if half of DUers did it, imagine how many
people might be affected by the message.

One of my favorite pastimes is putting up "Impeach Bush" signs around my area from time to time. A couple years ago, they'd only last a day or two before some upstanding republican citizen would remove them, but lately some of them are lasting considerably longer.

8. I live in SW Colorado, in a town that tons of Texans visit in the summer..
and I have not seen a single Bush bumper sticker yet..another small change I have noticed is that FOX news is not on any of the TV stations at my gym anymore...it used to be always showing on at least 2 of the 7 screens..small, but definite changes are going on.

9. Same here. One guy who bragged about it in 04 now denies voting for him
Edited on Fri Aug-11-06 08:58 AM by Atman
My republican skiing buddy. After the 04 election we were at a cocktail party (all dems but them) when they decided to egg us on by telling us about their votes for Bush. They're very, very well-off and childless, so I don't doubt they actually did. But today? Never heard of the guy. Bush who? No way, I'm a libertarian! Never did like that Bush guy.

It is pretty common.

16. LOL
"I'm a Libertarian"

That's the problem--they really don't KNOW what/who they are. In any sense.

They are empty receptacles waiting for the next sales pitch.

11. I couldn't find one person who admitted voting for Nixon after he resigned
Even though he won in a landslide.

you would of found the same scenario even if you had a picture to proof otherwise! Look at Joe Scarborough he does not appear to be very PRO BUSH now days BUT we know better!

and maybe it is a good thing, when I look at the Israelis and Muslims they do not forget or forgive and look where we are now!

19. The same thing happened when Nixon resigned. I had argued for months
with some people about Watergate and Nixon and the day after he resigned on TV I went to see how they were feeling. Not a one of them would admit to supporting Nixon or rooting for him to win.
