what the hell are "islamo-fascists?"
I know what Bush Fascists are.

But what about this new term they've concocted from the department of propaganda, deep in the bowels of the WH?

These people and their vocabulary make me sick! :puke:

What would you prefer to call people who think stoning is a reasonable punishment for reporting a rape? Don't fall into the trap of assuming that anybody who opposes Bush is automatically good, because that's far from the truth.

8. What does militant fundamentalist Islam have to do with corporatism?
And how do you have fascism without corporatism?

Theocratic Dominionism (rule by religion, attempting to fulfill religious prophecy on Earth) would be a better label.

but fascists???

Wikipedia:

Fascism is a radical totalitarian political philosophy that combines elements of corporatism (we know how much radical islam loves corpratism), authoritarianism, extreme nationalism (Supposedly radical islamists are trying to FORM a islamic nation, but dont yet have one to their satisfaction, sow they really cant be nationalists), militarism, anti-anarchism, anti-communism and anti-liberalism (I thought us liberals were supposed to be pro-terrorists or some crap like that??).

Now when you compare the Bush philosophies to Fascism you get a little closer match.

22. huh?
i am referring to the classical/original definition of fascism, as practiced by Benito Mussolini, which is corporate control of a country.

The common-use definition, as described in Webster:
fas·cism
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control <early instances of army fascism and brutality -- J. W. Aldridge>
(http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/fascism)

Even by that definition, the Al Queda types don't fall into the category of "fascist". These people, like any who follow over-the-top extremist religious practices are fragmented all over the world. They are nothing more than stupid deranged perverted bigoted bullies.

Fascism, on the other hand, is a form of government within a country, the kind that George W. Bush is trying to create in the United States of America.

7. They don't exist. They are religous theocrats and fundamentalists.
Edited on Fri Aug-11-06 12:01 PM by CottonBear
Fascists are corporatists (think Mussolini or Hitler) and most Muslim terrorists are not corporatists and therefore are not fascist.

11. The equally vile counterpart to Christo-Fascists
Religion is the antithesis to critical thought and accurate information.

No need to pick sides when both sides are so horribly wrong.

13. Stick "fundamentalist" in there and you'd be right
Religion in general, is no less rational than the lack thereof.

24. ?
Religion in general is sometimes positive and sometimes negative, but it certainly isn't rational. Religious conclusions about the world are based on faith, which is the opposite of reason.

17. Non Sequitor
"Nazis were fascists"
"Radical Islamists hate Jews"
"Nazis hated Jews"
"Therefore Islamists must be fascists"

I think it's a ploy to declare another world war and portray Buxh as Truman.
Obstructionist Democrat interference will be considered treason and aiding and abetting.

Just my opinion of Rove's lastest word game.

18. Thats what I think is so damn funny about all this!!
A Fascist is talking about Islamic Fascists like that would be a bad thing to him! It is true however what he says - just take out the word 'Islamic' and replace it with 'Bush' - you get "There are a group of Bush Fascists trying to ..." blahblahblah whatever crap he spews after that.
