What's the book about?

In it, he criticizes blacks for what he believes is perpetuating the black stereotype: violent, immoral and welfare dependent. He attacks people like Snoop Dog and Dave Chapelle.

Franken is saying that Williams is doing the same thing in his book that he accuses others of doing. And Williams did not rebut Franken. I think Franken is right.

African Americans, it gets published. It's a form of racism by proxy. Shelby Steele, Larry Elder, and now Juan Williams have done this to enrich themselves.

The problems of poor African American working class people is the same as the problems of all poor working class Americans, a profound lack of jobs that can lift them out of poverty and into the middle class.

Anti-social behavior, drugs, crimes, illeteracy, etc. are tied into a culture of economic hopelessness. These kids won't straighten up and fly right if they don't see a real path in front of them, and there's nothing that Dave Chappelle, Snoop Dog, Bill Cosby, nor Jesse Jackson can do.

The only solution involves a deep investment by the government into poor communities through education and other programs that can lift these people out of poverty. Once they see a path, then they will follow it, because low paying jobs at McDonald's ain't gonna do it.
