How many Repugs promised to serve only 12 years....?
Under the '94 Contract with America? Virtually all of them signed it....12 years ago. So how many are keeping their promise and bowing out after holding office for 12 years?

I'll bet very few. This should be an issue in this election.

Remember the big deal the Rethugs caused when they signed the "Contract" on the Capitol steps back in '94?

My Congress person, sue Myrick, Wingnut from Charlotte signed up, yet is running again.

Would love to see the film of her signing followed by a question asking about her ignoring her contact.

Everyone with a congressperson should write a letter to the editor reminding people of these republican liars.

2. They know their base
Oh its just a little lie. And republicans can take drugs and have affairs, its all to relieve stress. And that promise was made so long ago, it doesn't matter anymore.

6. I read an interesting story about Mark Souder of Indiana (R), who
has had an interesting change of opinion.

From the fort Wayne Journal-Gazette:

WASHINGTON – When he was on the ballot against a three-term incumbent in 1994, Mark Souder thought term limits were wonderful. Like many Republican congressional candidates, he found it useful to rant about the corruption of Democrats and blame it on their 40-year majority.

Times have changed. A dozen years after saying 12 years is sufficient for any member of Congress, Souder is running for re-election and the chance for 14 years in office.

The makeover is dramatic: Souder doesn’t feel beholden by a 12-year term limit pledge, he’s lukewarm about the value of term limits, he would only support a term limits bill that includes a series of qualifiers, and he absolutely rejects the idea that conservatives should honor their pledges if liberals (who didn’t make the promise) do not.

..snip

Hypocrits!
