IMO, this is a complete exercise in CONTROL. Why can't someone bring a chapstick on a plane yet only 10% check-in across the country is scanned for bombing materials? That means all of these long lines and "security" checks really mean NOTHING, eh? Who cares if I have a lipstick tube with me if the belly of my plane is FULL OF EXPLOSIVES? Think about it.

Yeah, nothing to worry about when only 10% of checked luggage is scanned. After all, if a bomb goes off in the belly of the plane ... well .... I guess you are dead. Oh, ok .... think positive, we are taking away toilet items.

I generally keep Cabal News Network on in my studio as background noise, or even with the pic off while music plays. But the audio was on this time, and Chertoff was giving a live press conference. A reporter asked him something about the threat to United States air traffic, and he said, or at least what I think I heard him say, is that "We have no evidence the plot involved the United States." I don't know if I heard it correctly, or if he meant United States air traffic, U.S. investigators, or what. But I am pretty sure that is what he said.

Either that or it was something about Kirk Douglass being dead.

We've all seen the video clips - people at the airport 'tossing' their liquid items into giant garbage bags, calmly held by airport personnel.

You think someone might have an unstable explosive material, and you invite them to throw it into a garbage bag IN THE MIDDLE OF A CROWDED AIRPORT.

If this story had any plausibility, they would have shut down the airport, cancelled all flights, and warned passengers via widesprad media coverage NOT to bring these items to the airport when they came back for their re-scheduled flights.

Was it hauled away by regular garbage trucks via well-travelled roads, amidst other traffic? If so, it means THEY KNEW there was no risk of any explosive materials being there -- which then begs the question: Why did they confiscate it in the first place, unless it was Terra PR for the masses?

This whole story has WAY TOO MANY loose ends ...

if the alleged gelatinous bombs are controlled with a remote (ipod or cell phone), then what would stop them from exploding if they were in the checked baggage compartment vs. an overhead bin?

There is no reason to cause all this commotion and disruption unless they have further information about part of a plot based inside the US. Since they don't, and they were also informed of the plot at least a few days before any of this, then this sure as hell seems like a crass political ploy.
