29. Why would it not be a racist term if it refers to race in a derrogatory
term. Is it a matter of degrees? It's not as bad as other derrogatory terms so it's okay as long as it was never over a fountain somewhere?

I didn't think any racist terms were okay, even if they don't happen to refer to your own experiences. To think otherwise strikes me as a rather slippery slope.

33. To equate the term cracker with racist terms for African-Americans is
turning a blind eye to history or for that matter the present.
When Freedom Marchers demonstrated in the 60's, crackers beat them with baseball bats while calling them names you would equate with cracker. In the 50's they lynched blacks while calling them those same names.

19. If I recall, someone on his panel said that Lieberman was a centrist
and that centrists were no longer favored by the Democratic Party. Lou Dobbs then suggested that Bush, with whom Lieberman is in agreement, is of course such a centrist himself. It was obvious that he was being sarcastic, even without his later clarification and it was clear to me that Dobbs was directing his comment towards those who claim Lieberman is a centrist.

He made it clear he was sarcastic as the discussion continued. He also dissed extremists on both sides of the spectrum, which means he is no neocon apologist.

The Rollins asshole from the Reagan years, and that moran in the middle. But the Democratic strategist was given ample time without interruption (and how often does that happen?). Lou's last jab was how he has no use for extremists - and he included the Right in that comment.

He is a conservative, but he is no Faux News neocon asshat. :D

I expected right-wing drivel from Rollins and Goodwin. Hell, Rollins worked for Reagan. The rhetoric that the Democratic party is 'far left' is dead in the water. The latest poll numbers OVERWHELMINGLY favor the Dems in the elections, and with 60% against the war, and 33% ratings for Bush... it's a safe bet MOST of even Lou's most loyal viewers know the two GOP pinheads are COMPLETELY full of shit.

Expect more flailing from the Republicans as this drags on. Soon, we'll all be commie pinko hippies and to the left of Che. :eyes:

Can you Imagine Wolf or Paula saying the uncomplimentary things that Lou does about the Gang or go into any kind of depth to the extend Lou does in reportage or touch 'sensitive' issues that DU has been talking about for years now?

TW in this area, and not only will I refuse to support them, I don't care for all the compression algorithms cable uses to squeeze my signal down to nothing! Broadcast television is the only way to see everything in the electronic signal being sent.
That said, my dad (a lifelong Democrat) loves Lou Dobbs and asks me if I saw the most recent show. Sorry Dad, I didn't.
So I would expect he was joking, but again, never having seen him I do not know the whole story, and it sounds like some of the other posters here don't know the whole story either.
