It's getting kind of late in London, didn't they have to charge somebody
for the plot by today, or ask for an extension?

Silly me, I thought they had an open & shut case against those "terrorist plotters", else why all the hoopla?

They suspended those rights LONG AGO.
I mean, really, how do you expect our fearless leaders
to keep us safe if everyone has these 'rights' ?

2. They did ask for an extension
I heard on NPR this morning that they can hold people involved in terrorism for 28 days without charges, but must get the court's blessing every 7 days. The reporter felt they would get this extension, but the next request goes to a higher court and it would be less likely to be approved.

3. I heard the same report, but there is no news that they actually
did get an extension.

5. Extensions granted
for 21 of them, until 23rd August; for 2, until 21st.

6. Thanks. I enjoyed where they added in the unrelated tid bit
Right in the middle of the report:

"Meanwhile, a United Airlines plane heading from Heathrow Airport to Washington DC has been forced into an emergency diversion after an apparent on-board confrontation involving at least one passenger"

In order to "sex up" an otherwise dull report.
