bin laden knows what's happening on the internet. he sees that there's dissent about iraq and afghanistan, but that he does understand how americas works. in essence, because we're against the war we're with bin laden. so i can just imagine what the right wingers are going to be saying today. It's those far left whackos causing all these problems!!!!!!

1. What do we know about Mr. Emerson?
Is he a right winger, politically neutral, a liberal? This would make a great deal of difference to me in assessing the validity of his claim.

3. Emerson was shown to be a political hack
with an extremely dubious record-- so much so that MSNBC et al disavowed him for a while -- then 9/11/01 took place and he's back in the catbird seat...

Poor journalist poor excuse for a human being

4. no i don't think he's a right winger. he wrote the book "american
jihad - terrorists living among us". he actually got into a mosque where he got quite a bit of relevant information, but i think "the powers that be" or "were" paid no attention to him. you can do a google search and you'll get more info than i can give you.

6.  O' Really? Read this, I say he's a hack

Just less than 5% of his background

Occasionally, Emerson outdoes himself with hyperbole. In an inflammatory letter to the Voice of America (12/2/94), he fumed that radical Muslims in the United States are plotting the "mass murder of all Jews, Christians and moderate Muslims." Buddhists, Wiccans and Scientologists are apparently exempt in the apocalypse Emerson prophesies. Last year he warned that "the U.S. has become occupied fundamentalist territory" (Jerusalem Post, 8/8/97).

Kojo Nnamdi, a talk show host on Howard University's WHUT, remembers that when he invited some Muslims on a program, "Emerson started making threats. He wanted to link academics to terrorists. He succeeded in delaying the program, I'm sorry to say."

"He's carrying the ball for Likud," says investigative journalist Robert Parry, referring to Israel's right-wing ruling party. Victor Ostrovsky, who defected from Israel's Mossad intelligence agency and has written books disclosing its secrets, calls Emerson "the horn"--because he trumpets Mossad claims.

Tons of stuff here.

10. In Islam...Christians and Jews are "People of the Book"...
...traditionally (when at peace with Islam) afforded deference in Muslim lands.

One of the most important tennants of Islam is monotheism. Anyone that worships multiple gods is very much a deep spectrum infidel.

Since Christ came after Moses, and Mohammad came after Christ, (all of whom are considered prophets by Islam) it looks a little like this:

Judiasm = Religion 1.0
Christianity = Religion 2.0
Islam = Religion 3.0

However Hindus worship many gods, as do Wiccans...that makes them "Religion 0.0" in Islam.

And considering the thousands of "Body Thetans" that Scientology clames, it may put them in the Religion 0.0 boat too.

Saying Hindus, Wiccans, and Scientologist are exempt from the wrath of jihad is just plain wrong.

What ignorant nuttery to even say so.

8. Steve Emerson is a hack
One of many so called terrorism experts who gained popularity after 9-11. A major part of the noise machine that triggered most of the alerts.
