"Free flow of information" not allowed under Bush....
http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/FBI_Brooklyn_HDTV_company_provided_users_0824.html

What was this guy thinking?

Doesn't he realize that only the Bush Administration (and other regimes) can engage in business transactions with "terrorists"?.....

1. He was probably thinking the 1st Amendment still applied
And that if BushCo and its minions could use the airwaves to:

  • start a war based on lies
  • incite hatred and violence towards anyone who isn't a Bush-supporting Christian Republican
  • use terror to manipulate the American people
  • fling terms like "macaca" and "islamofascist" around with impunity
  • ensure that only the US view of the middle east is disseminated to Americans

then he had the right to access alternative sources of information.

Silly rabbit.

2. The Constitution Doesn't Do Anything Anymore
Edited on Fri Aug-25-06 09:23 AM by newyawker99
The constitution is increasingly becoming irrelevant, as laws which are passed actually go around it, and, in some cases, sections of the constitution are deemed unconstitutional. Here is an article from my organization explaining why we no longer have Fourth Amendment Rights:

"FBI Raid Opens Constitutional Rift

WASHINGTON — The May 20 FBI raid on the offices of Congressman William Jefferson, a Louisiana Democrat, has escalated into both a constitutional crisis and a rift between the state authority and those bodies established by the Constitution.

Jefferson was the target of an eight-month Department of Justice probe into bribery allegations and corruption.

It is alleged that he took hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes to promote business ventures in Nigeria, Cameroon and Ghana.

According to FBI statements, when they searched Jefferson’s home last August, they found $90,000 stored in a freezer — this was, according to the FBI, 90 percent of the $100,000 Jefferson allegedly took in bribes.

However, the raid on Jefferson’s home, as opposed to the raid on his Congressional office, was conducted according to the rules and statutes set down in law.

According to Article I, Section 6 of the U.S. Constitution, members of Congress, while in session, are protected from arrest and interrogation by authorities operating under the direction of the executive branch — the Chief Executive (President) or one of its departments.

3. As opposed to the people who this originated from...
who want to unconstitutionally alter the government of the United States. You might think about quoting another source.

6. A few things
First, I don't see why the publisher of this article matters at all. The fact of the matter is that you no longer have 4th amendment rights, as decided by the supreme court. If you don't believe me, then you can look up the case online. It's a simple google search, and you would have easily found it.

We don't print lies, or made up stories. We print the truth from a Marxist perspective. We print stories that actually matter to working people both in this country and around the world. In fact, if you would like to question the validity of any of our articles then feel free to contact us at league@communistleague.org for information on sources.

Second, we wish to "alter the government" to the extent that your voice is actually heard and that your participation in politics is just as important as everyone else, regardless of how much money you have. I don't see what is wrong with that at all. Do you?

5. Your statement is misguided
What you have to realize is that you won't get "a lot more Democracy" by voting democrat. Moreover, "a lot more Democracy" (to the extent where your vote actually counts) will only come about by the citizens of this country fighting to establish a republic wherein votes actually count. I suggest you check out our Action Platform (http://www.communistleague.org/page.php?7) to see what I'm talking about.

Furthermore, it is only under a communist society that complete democracy can be achieved and the role of government to evolve into the mere administration of things.
