Translation of Morning Idiot on Face the Nation this morning.
We (republicans) are in charge. It is our policy that we are more than willing to watch you die and/or lose everything you have, so make an escape plan, keep your bags packed and after that its every man for himself. And if you don't make it out due to lack of time, awareness, physical or mental ability or traffic-jammed roads, well then, its your fault not ours.

It is not within our ability nor is it our responsibility to rebuild anything wiped out by the hurricane. If the poor cannot find a way to rebuild their homes they probably are living in the wrong area and need to move somewhere more suited to their lack of financial ability. (I guess that's why we're doing such a lousy job of rebuilding in Iraq too?)

You can agree or disagree, but that's basically what I got out of his appearance. And the Bush administration continues to be a disgrace.

1. I did not see Face the Nation
Perhaps you could be a little less obtuse--who was the guest and what was the context (assuming Katrina?).

8. It was David Paulison
he's the (current) head of FEMA. Bob Scheiffer was his usual dottering self this morning, apologizing for asking softball questions and so on.

Paulison took the opening to filibuster about how wonderful things are in New Orleans, what a strong commitment the President (sic) has to rebuilding on the Gulf Coast, yaddayaddayadda.

2. Sounds like that bigoted asshole Sam Kinison...
...when he made fun of starving Ethiopions and said they just "need to move where the food is."

5. Close
Born on December 8th, 1953 in Yakima, Washington, Sam Kinison's beginnings were fairly innocent. His father was a Pentacostal preacher, and the family lived in a church in Peoria, Illinois. Sam and his brothers followed in their father's footsteps by touring churches across the Bible Belt and earning a decent living. But that wasn't enough for Sam. As his preachings became increasingly too much for the average churchgoer, he took his thoughts and ideas to comedy clubs.

After realizing that drink and drug were killing him, he decided to clean up his life. He sobered up and married beautiful Malika Souiri, who appeared with him in his shows and in his music videos. Ironically, on their way to a sold-out show in Laughlin, Nevada, the newlyweds' car was struck head-on by a teenaged drunk driver, injuring passenger Malika, and killing Sam in 1992. Although Sam has left us physically, his spirit continues to live here, on kinison.com.

7. I think he was making fun of people who think like that
not the Ethiopions that were starving, but the people (usually repubs) who believe that when people are poor it's their own fault.

10. It was actually a very funny bit. I understand you didn't care for it,
and I'll bet you didn't like any of his stuff either, but please he was a comedian, not a foreign policy adviser, his job was to make us laugh, and he did it quite well.

Sam's dead and Carrot Top is a millionaire, there is no God.

6. No. I don't know who he was.
And after thinking about it a little more, its probably more accurate to say that the above statement is a composite of the speakers that I saw this morning. But, the Face the Nation speaker, whoever he was, was more obnoxious than usual.
