Friends -

Here’s a heads-up.

The National Institute for Animal Agriculture (Big Ag) is at it again. A key policy resolution that they are pushing for this year calls on the USDA to eliminate access to the outdoors for poultry due to the avian influenza scare. The country’s largest egg production trade group has a already appeared in front of the National Organic Standards Board to make the same pitch.

4. Because keeping poultry locked in small cages without fresh air
or natural light is much more healthy than being in the outdoors.

You are what you eat, folks.

5. and without any room to move
and suffering from lung disease from the ammonia from thier own decomposing waste
and mentally and socially damaged by the intense crowding
and sometimes unable to eat or drink because thier beaks are burnt off as chicks to prevent fighting in the cramped conditions
and living, if you can call it that, next to thier dead and decomposing cage mates, who get stuck in the wire and die of hunger and thirst
and trapped in bodies bred to grow faster than thier hearts and skeletons can keep up, so many suffer bone and joint diseases or sudden heart attacks, known in the industry as "flip over syndrome"
and with thier feathers worn away by the bars and the close quearters...

Poor things.

so we don't have to fight them over there. If al kiter developes free range poultry, then you will see mushroom clouds with feathers all over Amerkur.

9. Always some angle to their scare tactics
I have to admit, I didn't see this one coming at all. People have been demanding truly healthy food and I guess we just can't have that, what better way than to convince folks that we just can't keep animals in the big scary outdoors. Is Alcoa running.. we must be running out of tin foil after 5 years of this insanity.
