Hi!

Please read the article below titled "One Last Chance" by Mick Youther. It was sent to me by a friend.

This article correctly identifies the Republicans as being primarily responsible for the creation of an American fascist military/police state. Unfortunately, the Democrats also share much of the responsibility. This is because the Democrats have not forcefully resisted the Republican drive to create an American fascist state. Which, of course, is because there is a strong pro-fascist element in the Democratic Party.

The history of previous fascist states in Europe and South America gives us some clue as to what we can expect from the American fascist state that the fascist Bush administration is creating.

The following is what I think will occur:

(1) The third political parties will continue to attract new members. Since the Republicans control the election process the third parties will do more poorly with each election. Eventually, the Republican fascists and their fellow Democratic Party fascists will simply crush third party resistance.

(2) The entire pro-Second Amendment movement that was very instrumental in the rise of the fascist Bush administration will be betrayed by the fascist Bush administration. Gun control will be implemented by the fascist Bush administration and the fascist Bush administration will follow the example of all previous fascist regimes and confiscate all privately owned firearms.

(3) The Christian Right that was very instrumental in the rise of the fascist Bush administration will be given the lesson that tails do not wag dogs, that it is the dogs that wag the tails. At some point in the not too distant future the fascist Bush administration will have secured enough political power that they can make it very clear to the Christian Right what the real purpose of the Faith-based initiatives is. The real purpose, of course, is for the fascist Bush administration to have financial control of the very churches that helped put the fascist Bush administration in power.

(4) The crushing of political resistance will in very short order give rise to a very extensive and active underground movement in America. As the Bush administration's police state uncovers these underground organizations they will be brutally crushed as terrorist organizations.

(5) The American corporate news media will continue to rubber stamp everything the fascist Bush administration does. After all, the American corporate news media is part of pro-fascist element in Corporate America, that is owned by the pro-fascist element in the American capitalist class, that put the fascist Bush administration in power.

(6) America will continue to invade country after country to create puppet states that will be controlled for the purpose of enriching Corporate America and the American capitalist class.

(7) The American people will continue to believe the bullshit shoveled by the fascist Bush administration, and the pro-fascist news media, that America is fighting wars for freedom and democracy, and to defeat terrorism.

(8) That under the fascist Bush administration's iron-heel America will continue to be the most feared, despised and hated nation in the world.

The salient characteristic of the BushCo regime, coup, and organization is that it consists of pirates.

Pirates do not create, invest, save, plan for the future, or invent.

Pirates rape, pillage, steal, kill and destroy.

And when the unhappy victims are drained of anything worth stealing the piracy collapses, provided the victims don't take advantage of their oppressors' weaknesses and kill them off before that point.

Pirates don't make friends either. Their alliances are punctuated by back-stabbing. Ask Saddam. Or Noriega. Or other former co-conspirators.

Already Bush has so weakened the essence of American power that other nations will not only be able to defend themselves quite handily, with every incentive and good reason to do so, but we may also be facing an invasion and occupation of our own. I'm hoping for a reverse Marshall Plan, complete with de-Nazification, but if not, this country will regenerate. And if BushCo sucks the Fundie churches dry, so much the better for us all.

3. Alas... around step 6...
the Fascist leadership will find it cannot really pull it off (insufficiently large and largely unwilling military, as well as a large, large world literally filled with nations that could pretty well stop or cost our military far greater losses than could be sustained--and besides, occupation has been show to be impossible--even of thoroughly conquered countries--with the mere application of modern assymetrical/insurgency warfare).

Of course, having become stuck at step 6, and delusionally insistent upon "winning at all costs", the foolish leadership could indeed decide to rely on our only overwhelming power... by communicating loudly to the entire world: "surrender and submit to our leadership immediately, or we'll reduce your capital cities to large puddles of molten glass rubble... we repeat, surrender now, or we'll blow this pop-stand!".

Now, it's questionable whether the world would submit--even it it knew our insane leadership would indeed follow through with it's suicidal plans of mutually assured destruction. Still it might be interesting to see--I mean what does one do when facing a fully armed suicidal maniac that is assuredly capable of taking and willing to take all of you (all of mankind) with him?

If all else were to appear impossible, though--perhaps step 6 would be to demand the capitulation of all 50 states by threatening them with nuclear destruction... So, in his 2007 State of the Union, Bush declares "I know you really love me... So re-elect me for a third term or face nuclear annihilation!"... uh... okay, get it over with Dumbya... that is, we reply "Give us Liberty from the Bush Cabal or give us Death!" and/or "We Regret That We Have But Our Individual Lives To Give For The Liberation Of Our Country From The Bush Dynasty!"... and much to our surprise, however, Bush actually pushes the button... and *poof*, America was no more (but she hadn't been for eight years, and probably wouldn't ever have fully recovered anyway).

No doubt there are other problems with the given scenario. The likely events being no more exciting than the economic collapse of the country into the worst imaginable Depression pushing everyone except the wealthy into deep, strife-ridden, helpless poverty while all governmental functions are taken over by private corporations (even more fascist than direct fascism; fascist/militaristic/oligarchic corpocracy) which take control and utilize the available populace as oppressed slave labor for centuries to come.
