THE BUSH ECONOMY IS GOING GREAT!!! Just ask Faithmouse!

The cartoon is very heavily in debt. It's an amount which has accumulated during seven years of pouring everything I have into the cartoon, of paying for and doing whatever is necessary without hesitation to keep the cartoon alive. If you consider the impact this cartoon has had, of the many sites which regularly post and discuss this primarily Pro-Life cartoon, it's an amount of money which wouldn't seem outrageous for any start-up operation or media enterprise to expend. However, faithmouse isn't a media conglomerate; it's just one cartoonist with a computer in his bedroom , a drawing pad under his arm wherever he goes, and a quixotic belief in the merits of an ongoing artistic project.

That's right. Everyone's favorite conservative cartoon christian rodent, Faithmouse, has dug it's cartoonist into debt ($40,000 in debt! Geez Louise!). Well not really. The creator of Faithmouse has done this on his own, but in honor of right wing passing the buck, has decided to blame his money problems on an imaginary cartoon character.

Maybe God is trying to tell him something? Maybe He's saying, "Dan, you know that "Personal Responsibility" stuff we keep hearing from the right? Maybe it's time you guys started putting it into affect. And lay off the credit cards.

And if you've never seen Faithmouse, just take a gander:

1. However, the economy is going good for the extremely upper

middle class, the rich and the extremely wealthy, corporations doing war business, & oil, and multinational business and corporations.

For the rest of the 90% of us who are paying most of the taxes for these same wealthy and corporations, (who receive subsidies, pay little or no taxes and exploit our infrastructure for profit) we have to work longer hours, for less pay, less job safety, less benefit, lost of medical insurance (and pensions) while they slowly wipe any voice we once had, our unions!!.

2. Can't argue about unions.
My folks both belonged to unions and not once did we have to worry about medical bills when I was growing up. That the right doesn't support them will shoot us all in the foot in the future.

3. Don't forget about the fake unemployment figures for the last 3 years.
The Department of Labor Devaluation stops counting people looking for work after 6 months. I imagine that the real unemplyment rate appears about 7 percent.

4. The guy is full of crap. I know...
My HOO Cares! is a top hit in the major search engines. My Not Banned Yet political cartoons are featured on About.com, were one DU features, linked to by some of the most well-know blogs, and stolen by political web sites left and right. And still, the two cartoons cost me practically nothing to create and "publish," and I sell reprint rights to newsletters, and framed prints, and stickers and shirts. I don't see how the guy could be $40,000 in debt off his cartoon. I just don't see it...unless he is counting the money he WISHED he'd been making had he been working another job. If that's the case, then DUers, please donate to ME! Since quitting my corporate creative gig to fight BushCo, I must be down at least $450,000!

(My 'toons are linked below)

9. Hey I have a job and even I find time to make a strip here and there.
That the guy is broke and can't even find support from the countless right wing sites he links to should've been a hint to him that the right wing criteria isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Seriously...there is more than one. I like Pastor Z's approach...humorous even if you're not Christian, rarely does it ever get preachy. Check it out...

7. The fundie lady at work...
Edited on Sun Aug-27-06 08:23 PM by marmar
who is struggling to pay some expensive medical bills for her husband, who works at Wal-Mart and isn't insured, and...
who herself works only part-time at our company and has a big co-pay on her insurance...
and who gripes about the high cost of gas and her 25-mile commute to work in a big van...
INSISTS that the economy is good. Why? Because the * said it is!
I pretty much ignore her and all her pro-Bush babbling, but I'm so tempted to say: "Gee, Bush's economy is working out great for you, that's why you can afford all that KOOL-AID!"

8. This Dan Lacey guy is barking mad
I just went to his website and all I can do is shake my head in disbelief. He portrays the devil as a cat wearing a Mexican hat.
