Can't you smell that smell ?
The smell of fear around us. But it's not the fear of "terrorists". It is the fear of politicians - mostly Republicans. They fear their loss of power. They fear defeat. How could the people be so cruel to them? They were such harmless bastards. :)

1. It's a fact that fearful animals will do WHATEVER it takes to survive...
...so we should prepare for the worst. But it's also a fact that fear can cause people to make mistakes, and those mistakes are what we need to be on the lookout for.

4. I am glad you mentioned this.
It sounds like paranoia, but your words bear some weight. After all, when a partner is about to leave an abusive spouse, that's most often when they are killed.

10. We are entering another difficult time
Be ready, because the next two months will be especially mean as the blood-soaked hands of the Republicans are forcibly removed from the levers of power, and some real accountability is introduced into the system. They're not going to give up power easily, and they're not going to make the task at all pleasant.

5. Political signs
In a part of Arizona where all you needed was an (R) next to your name to get elected, I notice that the GOP logo and "Republican" branding is noticably absent from candidate political signs. I've never seen that before.

6. Now that is significant.
I will sing from the rooftops if kyl, hayworth(less), or any of the other freaky pukes AZ sends to Washington is defeated. And I can't sing. :-)

7. In Oklahoma most Repugs are androgynous at election time.
You hardly ever see "Republican" on signage around here. In our most recent mayoral race, the Republican was asked with which party she was affiliated. Her answer "I prefer not to identify because I consider this race non-partisan." Go figure.

9. I think most Mayoral races are that way
Except possibly in very large cities. It is when they start running for State or Federal office that Parties get involved...

11. "I prefer not to identify"

Oh, OK--so now we're not supposed to KNOW which party they represent?

I guess "Undeclared" is the new Republican.

12. Whew! Open a window...
The smell of fear and failure. But I fear it's going to get a lot worse before Nov.

Specifically, right around the middle of October.
