3. Oh, thank you, pal! Mr. Olbermann kept saying that, so I thought
I'd look it up. Did you see his whole show? :wow:

And that Shakespeare stuff, if I don't like it,
I'm pretty sure the blivet wouldn't go there.
And 'read 3 Shakespeares"?
Aren't they plays?

5. babylonsister, you are on a roll tonight! Nice post, as usual.
Yep -- ol' Dubya's settin' the bar real high with 3 -- count 'em -- THREE Shakespeares.

Downright dazzlin', ain't he?

7. No, the Shakespears he read were the word Shakespear.
They gave up on teaching him to read famous books.

He's now being taught to read the names of famous authors.

8. 3 Shakespeares...Boy! that sooo sounds like 3 MARTINIS, or
3 Blood Marys something that has come out right out of the mouth of a self-reported ex-alcoholic whos dryness may have only to do with the alcohol level in his blood--but nothing at all with the reality of his thinking, or even his wishful drinking.

hey i had 3 coffees this morning.

10. If Dubya's drinking again, or if he never stopped, or whatever it is,
I bet historians are sober and sit with sleeves rolled up, ready to summarize the disaster that is the Bush administration.

I don't think "3 Shakespeares" is going to turn anything around. I agree with you -- it does sound like he's talking about drinks.

11. As has been mentioned, I have a big wish that GQ would interview
Brian Williams and ask for his thoughts on that conversation.
And I would bet anyone that once dimson is gone, he's going to hear all about his
disaster of a presidency, in no uncertain terms.

12. That sounds right to me. There just isn't any way historians are
going to spin this presidency toward the positive.

It's a long string of spectacular failures, seems like.

15. A phrase from deep memory! My great Uncle ran booze during the
Depression, and that phrase -- 3 sheets to the wind -- survived into the next couple generations more vividly than it probably should in my family tree.

Hey there. How ya doin'?

"Three Sheikspeersto the wind" ! Love it.

17. Not sure. You hear it once in awhile, here and there, but I don't know
the derivation.

I get a picture of Dubya, drinking on the sly, uttering "It's hard work" inbetween gulps.

A year and 5 months until the Iowa caucuses. Things'll feel better then but this coming year is going to be a real bummer, I think.
