Poll: Harris leads Fla. GOP Senate race (wtf?)
"TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Congresswoman Katherine Harris holds a double-digit lead in the race for Florida's Republican U.S. Senate nomination less than a week before the primary, according to a poll released Thursday.

However, the poll also indicates that a large number of Republicans haven't settled on a candidate, and about a third of those supporting Harris said they still might change their minds.

"If Rep. Harris had only one opponent she might be in deep trouble," said Peter Brown, assistant polling director for the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, which conducted the poll last week. "But having three candidates splitting the anti-Harris vote is a major plus for her."

Harris was favored by 38 percent of 317 likely Republican voters."

I thought as of yesterday she was pretty well done.

23. So do I. She'll be the easiest to beat.
I think Nelson might have some trouble if LeRoy Collins wins the primary. I met his son at a candidate forum a couple of weeks ago. Nice enough kid.

But, Bill Nelson isn't the most popular Democrat in Florida, but he's the only one in the race. Harris carries more than enough negative baggage to offset any vote drain to Brian Moore (NPA).

Harris is really running some negative ads against Nelson.

9. The ten million is a sham though. She certainly isn't spending it and
it may never have existed. When did the truth ever come from the lips of Cruella?

7. REPUB primary with THREE opponents. Yes, she is favored to win that.
Don't forget, she is still a hero to the wing nuts. There are enough wing nuts in Florida for her to win the pubbie nomination against three opponents. But hey, that is good. It is likely that she will drag down some other pubbie candidates in the general election.

19. Not to mention it is 38%. The other 62% want ANYONE else.
That 62% is split among 3 other candidates. Still, she only has 38%. Not an overwhelming majority of Republicans by any stretch.

She probably will win the primary but she hasnt a chance in the general.

20. And actually she COULD still lose it. Primary polls with multiple
candidates are notorious for being way off the mark. I would not be at all shocked if McBride were to surprise Harris.

15. Is that what she named them?
They're so big, they certainly deserve names. Is the right one Spunk or Moxie? Who is brave enough to find out if she had their names tattooed upon them?

When she loses she will be able to get employment at the geriatric ecdysiasts home.

Oh, the humiliation.

(I think I heard sweet little demure Norah say that last night, so don't hold me to it.) There will, no doubt, be a titillating discussion with Spunk and Moxie on their chances of being elected to the U.S. Senate. Katherine Harris is also scheduled to appear.

26. The Repukes do this, and so can we...
The Harris situation plays into our hands. The woman is eminently defeatable in the general, and she's the front-runner in the GOP primary.

Now is the time for about half the Democrats in Florida to do a quickie party-switch, vote for Cruella in the primary, then switch back the next day. Make damn good and sure she's on the ballot in November.
