"George Bush is only human leave the guy alone"

http://dailynightly.msnbc.com/2006/08/new_york_state_.html#comments

Readers react to Brian Williams' interview with Bush

<snip>

I have to agree with some of the other people i think you can't blame President Bush on hurricane Katrina i mean they gave ample warning is it the goverments fault that certain people did'nt evacuate when they had a chance NO!!! that was the mayor and the governors job to do that. The levee system was down and not working properly since early 80's now we want a scapegoat and my president is it!!!! i dont'believe for one minute it was the fault of the Bush Administration.Ok he may not be the sharpest guy but it's been almost 5 years since 9-11 i feel safe!!!George Bush is only human leave the guy alone people are always tryin to make him look bad!!!i felt the interview was a chance to take stabs at him!!! BAD BAD MR.WILLIAMS shame on you!!!

7. Sorta
The blame goes to everyone. You can't place the blame on just one group. True, President Bush and the federal government had nothing to do with the pre-Katrina evacuation. However, I believe the locals in New Orleans requested federal money from Congress for the levees and did not get it. Nevertheless, Congress doesn't have to give the states money if it doesn't want to. The levees were clearly a state problem. President Bush may deserve some of the blame for the post Katrina work but not pre-Katrina.

18. Levees a state problem? WRONG...
The levees were not built to proper specifications by the Army Corp. of Engineers. The ACOE has taken responsibility for the breach of the levees. Ergo, the issue of the levees is a federal problem.

10. Yeah, I've got to question the human thing as well.
I just don't understand how a human can do such horrific things. It sends chills up and down my spine to think of being in a position to decide who lives and who dies. But Bush had no problem executing prisoners while Governor of Texas.

And then to put our soldiers in harm's way - knowing they don't have proper body armour, supplies, or leadership - I could never do that. Especially knowing the reason for the war was based on lies. I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I was responsible for the carnage in Iraq.

So, no, I really do question whether he's human or not. So far, I've not seen any signs of humanity in the man.

4. If I lived in Kentucky...
...I'd probably 'feel safe' too.

Why do all these people who can only sleep at night under a comforter made out of the scraps of the Constitution live in places I, never mind J. Random Terrorist, have to struggle to find on the map, and the places both actually targeted and most likely to be hit are getting on with their lives in a state of happy Buleness?

Is all you need to know - poor woman's husband is probably either in Iraq playing Human Target or right now packing his bags to do so. She has to believe in Bush - or she would be driven mad by fear for her husband's safety.

16. The federal response in the crucial 48 hours...
...after the storm was not just to withhold aid, rescue, and survival assistance, but, amazingly and unconscionably, to prevent others from doing so. This would surely rise to the level of criminal negligence on the part of BushCo and the Feds. This is why so many people drowned and were left unattended, and why hospitals couldn't look after their patients. The worst of all those to blame are, by far and away, BushCo and Feds.

If a recall, he wanted to play president, with that comes the criticism.
Just because they have been able to silence other critics, doesn't mean they will get them all.
