* predicts victory over terrorism
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/08/31/bush.terrorism/index.html

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) -- Just as the United States persevered in the long ideological struggles against fascism and communism in the 20th century, President Bush predicted Thursday that the nation eventually will win in Iraq and the fight against terrorism.

<more>

Someone should tell him that communism is still around not to mention that his own defense secretary was just telling the same group that this is now a war against fascism - which would seem to imply that it too was not defeated by some long ideological struggle in the 20th century.

1. What AREN'T we at war with??
...I'm reminded of Orwell's "1984". Time to take it off the bookcase, dust it off and read it as a reminder of things to come.

Okay, then. I predict that a Pegasus will ferret me away to the universe where Barbara Bush was rendered sterile and mute by a rather bad case of small pox contracted in early childhood.

3. He'll have to resign from office first.
If terrorism is the targeting of innocent civilians then we'll have to lock up Bush before terrorism stops.

5. Obviously the United States DIDN'T persevere
in the ideological struggle against fascism or these idiots wouldn't be in power today.

11. GOP Fascism is about a MONOPOLY - and doesn't tolerate competition.
Just as the Reich-Wing is covetous about being the sole purveyor of terrorism (Mutually Assured Destruction anyone?), they're jealous of any opposing fascist ideology. Saddam was a secular populist/fascist who failed to toe the line (stay in his place, subservient to the US coorporatists) and, in effect, lost his 'franchise' in Iraq. In the Pax Americana Empire, "allies" must know their place in order to keep their franchises.

7. Win the fight against terrorism?

He thinks there will come a date when people other than states no longer use violence to inspire terror for political ends?

Terrorism is a methodology, not a nation or a group or an institution or a cause or even a state of affairs. You can no more win the war against terrorism than you can win the fight against terrorism than you can win the war against crime. You can reduce it, for the duration of whatever measures you introduce, but the idea that you can do things that will make it go away and not come back when you stop doing them is very mistaken.

And Bush does too or he wouldn't be on the road!
