Poll: Harris Leads Fla. GOP Senate Race
BY BRENT KALLESTAD

ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Congresswoman Katherine Harris holds a double-digit lead in the race for Florida's Republican U.S. Senate nomination less than a week before the primary, according to a poll released Thursday.

"We believe that Katherine Harris is the only Republican candidate with a proven record of success and accomplishment to beat Bill Nelson," campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Marks said Thursday.

3. This Is Wonderful News!!
Go Katherine! You Can Do It! Only 30 Points Down On Nelson.

The only thing I'm worried about is her figuring out a way to fix it. Unfortunately, I don't think she has friends in high places to help her accomplish that feat this time around.

14. Chaffee out, Harris in
Even when they don't want to it seems the GOP cannot stop the RW from collecting its dues. We see that in NY. Nothing better, usually, than having the Conservatives romp over the moderate GOP thereby handing the election to the Dems if they want it. No wonder they back Lieberman. They have had more success influencing cross-dressing Dems than in trying to control their own selction. Their base is nuts, not all Cheney team all the time. Cheney isn't even popular and Rove is a means to an end.

Like all the GOP pols being busted for corruption, the hard right can't help gorging themselves on GOP moderates and sane people and "popular" people(now that they see again they are hated by the majority of the population. They want one of their own who is hated to just because. And they expect to win like they expected the world to end last week.

Sometimes our centrist Pollyannas project that madness on the "left wing" choosing spiteful, glorious righteous losers, being uncontrollable etc. One difference is that the lefty core of the party does not believe it is hated by the majority of the public, continually respects and makes peace with moderates and regional conservatism, and does want the mainstream, not some oddly entitled minority, to win- and win fairly.
