I watched W's speech the other day but I STILL think his war sucks
Edited on Sun Sep-03-06 04:34 AM by Philosoraptor
What's wrong with me? The pres. said he was embarking on a series of speeches at various locations across the land to sell his super duper war(s), and I did my patriotic duty and endured an hour of him reading words off a teleprompter.

But the lackluster delivery and smelly familiarity of his overused phrases left me less than stimulated, and I never once felt motivated to go enlist and fight the heathen hordes, or insist that my sons join up.

I feel like I'm letting the president down in a way, the poor schlub, standing up there so uncomfortably in his own drunken skin, trying so, so desperately hard to make us dimwits get it. Yet I just can't seem to buy what he's selling, maybe because it stinks so awfully.

I've been through this conflict before with a series of speeches he embarked on last year and the year before that too, and I will bite down hard and watch this week's attempts as well, just to say I did my duty, and maybe THIS time, I'll get it through my thick skull that the war is really cool.

2. HOW THEY DO IT
Edited on Sun Sep-03-06 05:13 AM by luckyleftyme2
it's simple, they appeal to your patriotism. they lay quilt on you to buy into their foolish
plan. they make you forget that they ignored some of the most brilliant generals of our time to create this war. they use words like fascism,(spread by rumsfield). when the messenger was the one who knew that sadam gassed his people with usa weapons and still used him for our ally.
now once again they are saying that we are going to be "nuked". that iran has the bomb, that the terrorist have the bomb etc etc.(don't forget chenny's oil deal with iran in 1997 WHEN CEO OF HALLIBURTON)
the question you should ask is who has our money. nations fall because they run out of money and cannot afford to supply a millitary large enough to protect them.
we are very close to this point;and everyone in the world knows it but the american people!
come on america: vote these fools out of office!
vote straight democratic ticket, send a message "no more corruption"
