2. WE should leave and quit making the situation worse.
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 01:12 PM by Vincardog
Our presence does nothing but inflame a bad situation.

Do I believe aWoL? I will start to believe him when he quits lying with every word he speaks.

3. Cut and run.
Run fast too. The illegal war is over. This is an illegal occupation that is accomplishing nothing and creating many problems. While I would love to say that since we created these problems, it is up to us to fix them, I know that staying will not actually fix anything.

5. We're beat to shit no matter what we do today.
I'm watching John Murtha on TV right now. He's a grizzled war vet. He didn't come out and say it, but this is ultimately up to Iraqis to solve, not the US. The situation grew worse over the period we have stayed in Iraq. What makes people think it will get better now???

6. When in you're in a hole stop digging. The "war" is lost.
It was lost the moment the first GI crossed the border. Now they're just trying to save face and hoping for miracles.

Meanwhile, the politicians continue to dream of imposed "democracies" in the Middle East which would really be vassal states to the USA full of oil and contented people (the survivors) shopping at WalMart and naming their kids "Dubya" and "Condi".

It's a failed policy, engineered by self-proclaimed "experts" in the White House and Pentagon, that has run into the reality of the Middle East and the will of the people there.

The real consequences of their hubris as neo-colonialists are yet to be felt.

7. those soldiers there do not need to be there period
they signed up to fight in Afghanistan to get Bin Laden, and they are still fighting in Afghanistan it is time to get these troops out now. Bush and his crusade mission can go to hell. His ass is not on the line, too bad it isn't.

10. Get out now!
2656 dead American soldiers is more than enough revenge for daddy. Get the hell out of there and let the Iraqi's find their own peace.......it isn't like they invited us in to help create chaos.

12. Leave
I do not buy Bush's assertion that there only two choices: stay or let Iraq be taken over by terrorists. I believe there must be a workable solution that could mitigate the threat of chaos and civil war after we leave. What that solution is, whether it's partioning the country or something else, I am not in a position to know.

Unfortunately, I don't think Bush has any intention of changing course since he promised that our troops will be in Iraq till at least 2009. Besides, it would be tantamount to admitting that mistakes were made. And that is something Bush will avoid no matter how many lives and billions of dollars it costs.

18. What is really at stake ..
to him is his so called legacy , which will be that he is a stupid ass. They don't want the dems to come to power because they will negotiate and talk to people, and use violence only as a last resort, bush wants war because he thinks it makes him look like he is tough and strong when in reality he is a scared ass wimp, notice everytime he has been to iraq he looks scared as hell until he gets to the photo-ops. a Lot of the soldiers don't know what is really going on until they come home and can't find work, a home or get the proper medical care. some do but others don't.

17. Leave
1. Our soldiers are dying

2. The insurgency sees us as occupiers. This violence goes away when we leave.

3. $9billion per month

4. Defense contractors are leeching us dry.

5. Our military families are suffering greatly. The stoploss must end.

19. Leave.
It's worse today than it was a year ago. It'll be worse months from now than it is today. Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting better results is INSANITY!
