If he doesn't agree with something, he should say so, rather than talk out of both sides of his mouth. I remember he used to give "special" guests a grilling sometimes. Not sure what's happened. I don't know if he thinks he'll draw right-wingers in, then trash what they say later, but it makes him seem either wishy-washy or a suckup.

I absolutely love Matchbox 20 and Rob's solo album isn't bad, but I am so glad his politics seem to lean in our direction.

I know that Rob is a really decent guy, because my brother, who is a musician, briefly toured opening for MB20, and wasn't a big fan prior to that. He was SO impressed by how hard Rob tried to stay grounded and just how NICE he was. I knew there was a lot more to him than met the eye.

I was a fan, although a tiny bit embarassed, until then. I'm not embarassed anymore, I just love the band, and the solo cd, but I wasn't sure which way his politics went, or if he was political at all. I was REALLY happy to see that he's a lefty, and apparently involved, too!

and that might be my last show. Bill does a show based on current events, you'd think he would have some idea of WTF is going on. Stale, inaccurate and just plain shitty.

I've seen you on Maher threads here for awhile
and I know you have been hanging on for a long
time. I don't know if I'm done but damnit I sure
see where you are coming from. Maher for the last
2 years on HBO has been a farce at its highest form.

It was better than usual tonight but the PI style magic is long gone.

However, it did end with these salvageable nuggets:

"Bad Presidents happen to good people."

"Ridiculing this President is the most patriotic thing you can do."

"We don't know WTF he's saying either."

Still, I think Fridays with "Real Time" are not as compelling as they used to be.

Don't cancel your HBO subscription because “Real Time” has become lame. You will not believe how intense "The Wire" has become in the upcoming season. It will blow you away. And I am not a fan of the previous seasons of "The Wire." It was always too many characters, too much detail and not enough plot movement. Not so this season.

Lots of new characters this season and lots of details, but the show is SO much more focused on the story line. It’s very gritty and the new child characters are very compellingly portrayed.

If you were already a fan of the series, you will be even more so. If you never quite got it before, you’ll get into it this time if you will (as always) give it some time. It’s light years ahead of what “Real Time” has fallen back to and equally as poignant as “Six Feet Under” achieved in its heyday.

Either way, I promise you; it WILL rock and unsettle your world.

They haven't given me a reason yet. Hit and miss episodes of Bill Maher are par for the course.

For me, HBO has some of the most creative and thought provoking original programming and is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale marketplace.

HBO and a couple of network programs, like Boston Legal. It irks the crap out of me that I pay so friggin' much for just a few hours of quality programming each week. HBO is definitely at the top though.

and damn funny too. After a shaky start, the show seems ot have found it's stride again. Even PJ O'Rourke made me laugh.

While jizzing all ove rBenjamin Netanyahu's shoes, he never once disagreed with the assertion that Hizbollah didn't attack Israel, Iran did. He sat there nodding, and agreeing with everything that neo-con warmonger was saying. He was agreeing that Iran was a great threat that had to be dealt with.

Then towards the end of the show he made a comment about how "I'm seeing the same BS arguments for invading Iran, that I saw for invading Iraq"

Well hey jackass... Why didn't you call Netanyahu out on that then?

This is why Maher is a fraud in my book. He has no fucking clue...

I get real annoyed when Maher follows every zinger with "I kid (insert name)." Geez, have some gumption!

The Salon woman & the boy were good, but I hated that show anyway.
