I would bet that the powers at ABC/Disney would like nothing more . . .

that to simply dump Path To 9/11 and get out from under it . . . they're receiving tremendous public pressure from their customers (the viewing public) to do just that . . .

my hunch is that there are countervailing forces at work that are exerting just as much pressure -- probably more -- in the opposite direction . . . SOMEONE is paying for those five hours of Sunday prime broadcast time, and that someone (or someones) is bound and determined to air his/her $30 million investment -- no matter what . . . any suggestion by ABC that the project be dropped is very likely being met by something like "No fuckin' way, assholes! I/we paid for it, and you're airing it!" . . . when money and morality collide, money almost always wins . . .

what I'd like to know is WHO those someones are . . . ABC isn't donating this time out of the goodness of their corporate hearts (corporations don't HAVE hearts) . . . they're saying they're running it free of commercials, but SOMEONE is no doubt making up for the revenue they're losing . . . I'm thinking along the lines of Richard Mellon Scaife or Rich DeVos or one of their cronies . . . wonder if there's any way to uncover the financial arrangement here, and who's involved . . .
