No way am I going to watch the morning political shows today...

Dick "Last Throes" Cheney for the full hour on MTP? I may be dumber just for knowing he's going to be on...


The rest aren't nearly as bad, but you better believe it is going to be 9/11 all the time. I find it perverse to watch the planes hit time and time again. To reiterate corny slogans about the "War On Terror." To exploit that horrible day.

I find it awful and dehumanizing to be fed with so much fear.

And, that is what we are going to get from that magic little box we call television.

The same old trite bullshit over and over and over and over again.

It's like a permanent color-coded alert. Fear. Duct tape. Fear. Cipro. Fear. Smallpox vaccinations.

No thank you.

So here is what I am going to do. I work for the ASUA cabinet (this post in no way speaks for anybody other than myself) and my job as the SAVE (Students Are Voting Everywhere) Director, is to organize events and register voters. It's purely non-partisan. We are going to register voters and give out pins in remembrance and out of respect for the people who died.

It's simple and there is not partisanship or fear involved.

I remember how we all were affected that day five years ago. And, how all the papers on September 12th said things like "America Unites." That was a proud moment in a sad time.

Since then I have not really changed my day to day life. I read more about history, culture and politics for sure. I am more active politically, of course. But as for day to day stuff, I refuse to live in fear. I just don't do it.

I am aware of how the world works. I am aware political violence could occur in the U.S. again. I am aware we are engaged in wars overseas. There are certainly dangers out there.

But, allowing those people who attacked us five years ago to scare me witless and dictate my every decision is about the most Unamerican action I could ever conceive of doing.

So yes, I will remember 9/11 my way. With love, passion and respect. For that I do not need television.

And, I definitely do not need fear.

You can let them off leash, and they can play with the other dogs for a couple of hours.

Even the pit bulls have a better personality than Cheney.

watch old movies. My own stock. Bush is going to be all over the tube doing all those face things. I can not take it. Better to even run RR 'to do' all over once more. Dragging the poor old mans body all over the place. One wonders about the so called liberal TV at times.

No fear box here either. Besides I can get reliable reports of what happened and what was said by DUer later.


I will go to Whole Foods for tofu, make a huge breakfast,go walk around in a nearby wildlife sanctuary, and then go to the farm for pic-your-own raspberries. A very peaceful relaxing day off for me.

But if "Tim Classic" shows up to interview Cheney it does open up some free time for me.

Those shows are bad enough when they have less repubs on. Are the Democrats going to get equal time on these shows?
