New pro-Dem ad series
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 01:29 PM by tgnyc
From The Intelligence Squad (www.intelligencesquad.com):

Here we launch a series displaying our concepts for how a party allegedly opposing the modern national Republican Party might advertise throughout the year 2006. In typical Intelligence Squad style, we plan to take no prisoners.

First up is our spot on the issue of incompetence within the national GOP. There are probably half a dozen ways one could go on this topic, but we've chosen an approach that we feel makes the cleanest and strongest argument to the "average Joe" of why such incompetence is problematic.

Future installments will deal with current hot topics like Jack Abramoff, the NSA wiretapping story, and the Valerie Plame leak. We're giving those stories a little extra time to "shake out" before we put those spots together, but believe us: they're coming. And they will come hard.

NOTE: We're not professional video producers or editors, so you'll have to forgive the decidely amateurish production quality. Rather we hope you'll focus on the overall imagery and message of the spots.

1. first, the second link did not work. second,
assuming that any criticism will be considered helpful . . . a little more energy/emotion in the voice-over would punch it up a bit.

otherwise good job! who will get to see these? besides us, of course.

2. Yes, comments helpful.
Who else will see them? Right now we're just amateurs tinkering around with this thing, so God only knows.

3. I agree! The voice is wrong.
Rather than going with an accusatory tone, which would be an instant turnoff for most Republicans you are trying to draw into the Dems, why not try it with a questioning tone and let the viewer make their own decision.

However, I wouldn't use the Katrina victims (more than once, if at all) as a political ploy for votes. Granted, it should be an embarrassment for the administration, but to use these people for gain at the polls is a bit much. We have to remember there are still people missing, and the photos of people floating in the mess are going to hurt the families, not the Repubs. I'd rather see the DNC go after the corruption of Katrina--show the people where their tax money went and whose pockets it went into. They might just uncover a few more Repub candidates for indictments. JMHO

4. But we're not trying to get Republicans; we're trying to get Independents
or whoever it was that was effectively targeted by the swiftboat crowd. The people who aren't sure what they stand for. The GOP has nailing those people down for a long time with accusatory tactics.
