O' Reilly Claims He and others at Faux on Al-Qaeda Death List
Timed to the release of his new book, Bill O'Reilly will be profiled on 20/20 Friday night. ABCNews.com has a preview:

O'Reilly says his fame and success -- and sometimes controversial views -- have come with a price.

"With the controversy comes death threats on a daily basis," O'Reilly said. "Not only from kooks. But the FBI came in and warned me and a few other people at Fox News that al Qaeda had us on a death list.

Al Qaeda probably wants to give him a medal for all the hard work he's done supporting their recruitement campaigns.

8. O'Reilly only wishes he was that important
Personally I think he's simply trying to make a stir, similar to Ann Coulter, in order to boost his future book sales. Pretty pathetic, but if it's true, I find it rather funny.

11. Wow. I guess O'Reilly needs to go through extraordinary rendition
if he has access to Al Qaeda's "death list" then he clearly has more access than Al Qaeda's "number two" or as he is more properly known Al Qaeda's "travel agent". If this is the case O'Reilly shoudl be waterboarded, have induced hypothermia, be forced to listen to objectionable (to him) music at massive decibel levels over long periods of time, be deprived of sleep for weeks, etc etc. I'm sure O'Reilly will be able to provide information that was just as valuable as that they got from the above mentioned Abu Zubaydah (ie frakking nothing).

16. Yeah, Bill, because you're just SOOOOO important, right?
So, when the FBI sent agents to tell you personally
(because the FBI has no telephones) about this "threat",
could anyone else actually SEE the Agents, or was it
just you? They didn't have a giant rabbit named Harvey
with them, did they?

24. Bill: *Tom Brokaw* got the anthrax-laced letter (not that it was al Qaeda)
and Senator Tom Daschle, and Senator Patrick Leahy, and poor Bob Stevens, a British-born photo editor for American Media ("The Sun" tabloid) who died from inhalation anthrax.

So, Bill, since the perpetrator(s) of this heinous crime still walk the earth free and unpunished -- and the act was most certainly terrorism, "home-grown" or otherwise -- why are you not demanding nightly for the administration to press this case to justice??? You talk the talk about knowing what it's like to be under possible terrorist death threats. Well, these men were actually on the receiving end of a terrorist attack -- one with fatal consequences for five people. Is it because the high-profile targets in this instance were moderate mainstream media types and/or Democratic public servants? :grr:

http://www.gwu.edu/~cih/anthraxinfo/public/publicthreat_attacks.htm
In the fall of 2001, 22 people were made ill by an anthrax attack in the United States. Anthrax spores were distributed via letter sent by U.S. mail to media organizations and political offices. Postal workers were exposed as well. The investigation by the CDC started in Florida; then quickly moved to New York City; followed by Washington DC; Trenton, New Jersey and then to Oxford, Connecticut. We now know that the anthrax exposures began in New York, but the first case that was reported to the CDC was in Florida.

Key Events:
September 2001
» Anthrax-laced letters are mailed to NBC and NY Post and probably to the National Enquirer.

October 2001
» Robert Stevens, an employee of The Sun tabloid newspaper operated by American Media Inc (AMI) in Boca Raton, FL, checked into the hospital, extremely ill, but undiagnosed.
» Stevens becomes the first reported and confirmed inhalational anthrax case. Stevens dies of inhalation anthrax.
» Two mailroom employees at AMI test positive for exposure to anthrax spores. Spores are found on Robert Stevens' computer keyboard.
» Letters containing anthrax were mailed to Senators Daschle and Leahy. At this point, letters are not known as the source of the anthrax in Florida.
» New York City news organizations are the target of other anthrax-laced letters.
» News anchor Tom Brokaw’s assistant tests positive for cutaneous anthrax
» Brokaw's assistant recalls seeing a letter, weeks earlier, containing a brown, granular substance; most of which was discarded but the letter was kept.
» Two New Jersey postal workers report possible anthrax symptoms; by October 20 both were diagnosed with inhalation anthrax.
» Several Washington, D.C. postal workers are suspected of having anthrax. By October 25, two D.C. postal workers were dead and two more ill, as well as a U.S. State Department mail processor, all with inhalation anthrax.
» Affected postal facilities and Senate office buildings are closed. Many government buildings also closed for testing during that period. U.S. mail undergoes irradiation to prevent other infections.
» Antibiotics are distributed to postal workers and Senate staffers.

After November 2001
» Five people ultimately die of inhalation anthrax.
» Investigators continue to look for the people responsible for the anthrax attacks.
» The anthrax strain is identified as Ames and originates in the U.S.
» Postal facilities in Washington, D.C. are not reopened until 2003.
