Perhaps the most bitching and moaning I've heard from rightists, about DU, had to do with the private contractors being strung up on bridge in Iraq, burnt, and dragged through the streets. These rightists were unconsolable. There was no way to explain to them that while they may have a valid point about the unsavory way this was discussed by some, it was hardly universal and it was probably more of an expression against the idea of what we were doing than it was an actual celebration of dead Americans. In fact I don't think it was a celebration of dead Americans at all.
You would think the posters here actually did the killing and mutilating.
Now, to my utter amazement, I am "debating" against these same rightists about their idea of mass extermination of 1.3 Muslims. Let's forget for a moment about the infeasibility of this strategy and the utter incompetence of this administration and these ideologues, even if it was feasible.
Saddam killed how many? 1.2 million?
Hitler, 12 million?
Stalin, 20 million?
Mao, 30 million?
Now who is going to lead the charge to exterminate 1.3 billion?
I mean I'm positively stunned not only by the outragousness of this extermination concept, but by the general lack of outrage over it.
What could possibly be more evil than advocating the extermination of 1.3 billion people? And they don't stop there, by the way. They are talking about exterminating "Liberals" too.
Partially to his credit, Bush did come out privately against the idea of exterminating Muslims. Much to Ann Coulter's chagrin he said it wasn't possible. Of course I'm still outraged. It's a lot more than just impossible, and I'm outraged that this man of "values" and leader of the free world didn't say more.
What are their "values" anyway?
