Amie Parnes: Gone totally Katherine Harris crazy
By Amie Parnes (Contact)
Saturday, August 19, 2006

WASHINGTON — Sometimes expectations can be fatal.

-snip-

Early in the week, she proudly announced on her Web site that Reps. Mark Foley, R-Fort Pierce, Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Brooksville, Jeff Miller R-Pensacola, and Cliff Stearns, R-Ocala, had given her campaign a stamp of approval.

Harris was wrong.

-snip-

"Did she just expect that we would endorse her?" one lawmaker's staffer complained to a high-ranking Harris staffer. On Thursday, the endorsements were removed from the Web site.

Coincidentally, (or maybe not) Harris also had high expectations of state Sen. Daniel Webster, R-Winter Garden, on Thursday when she anticipated his appearance at a campaign rally. When Webster was a no-show at the sleepy Orlando airport rally, Harris was caught off guard.

-snip-

The Urban Dictionary, an online resource for only the hippest words and phrases recently added the term "Katherine Harris crazy" to its lexicon.

5. If So... It Will Be The ONLY Noble Thing She's EVER Done!
She's been my representative for 6 years and I can't tell you ONE thing positive she's done. I've heard more LIES from her than anyone around here, add to that fact, she's so STUCK on herself it's unrealistic.

She has never really been THAT interested in the political well being of anyone.... only that it gave her notoriety!! But like a snake in the grass, don't ever think she won't do what she thinks will benefit her!!!

This is one very very strange unbalanced person!

IMO!!

14. Yeah... Been Living This "Trifecta of Politics" For What
seems like an eternity. While I'm still out there fighting and volunteering locally or wherever, I have thoughts that I NEVER thought I would.

While so many Democrats and Americans all over have seen much bizarre behavior, living right smack in the middle of this corruptness has not only been overwhelming at times, but keeps me outraged and depressed most of the time!

I'm NOT EVEN checking out CNN or MSNBC for the most part anymore. I click the channel for Cafferty and Olbermann, sneak peeks at times to "see" crappy coverage of the news, but it just frustrates me and I have to shut it off!

If November doesn't bring change I have entertained some thoughts that I didn't think I would. I won't be able to leave right away because we care for my husband's 94 yr. old mother with Alzheimer's, but am seriously considering moving to Costa Rica when it's her time to go. I don't KNOW this place anymore and while I will always call myself an American I don't know if I will be able to deal with it for much longer. America has had upheaval before, and I've seen a lot of it since Viet Nam, but these people in power right now are truly tyrants. So much secrecy and so much lying and we are all just their pawns!

But for now, I'm stuck!

3. OMG

The Urban Dictionary, an online resource for only the hippest words and phrases recently added the term "Katherine Harris crazy" to its lexicon.

No joke. (Any nonbelievers can check it out themselves at www.urbandictionary.com.)Here's how they define Katherine Harris crazy: Noun. As insanely optimistic as Congresswoman Katherine Harris. Usually characterized by an overly optimistic estimation of someone's chances of achieving success.

According to the dictionary, here's how the phrase is used in a sentence: "Did you hear Jim just bought 500 dollars in lottery tickets? That boy is just Katherine Harris crazy if he thinks he's going to hit the jackpot."

If you've used the phrase "Katherine Harris crazy " too many times and you're looking for another word to use instead, the dictionary offers some synonyms:

Crazy, insane, ridiculous, unlikely, or optimistic.

6. Remember it all, Katie. Remember how they laughed...
how they tried to talk you out of running, how they pulled their endorsements, how they made fun of you...remember it all.

Remember what you did in 2000. Remember it all. After the election in November, when you remember how they sunk you, when you remember that they all ran as far as they could from you, remember what you did in 2000.

Tell us all about it, Katie. We'll be all ears. We won't laugh. We promise.

13. You're doing fine, Katherine. Don't let the commies and
fellow travelers on DU get you down. All it takes is more money. Spend as though your Senate career depends on it -- it does! You can buy your way out of this. Beg, borrow, and steal whatever you need. You're on the way to the Senate, Girl!
