"Natl. Assoc. of Evangelicals" declares Bush NOT the devil (seriously)

MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 21 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ted Haggard, President of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) offers the following comment on yesterday’s speech at the United Nations by Hugo Chavez:

"NAE theologians and scholars have conducted a thorough exegetical study of the biblical texts concerning the person, disposition, and earthy manifestations of Satan (Beelzebub, Lucifer, Prince of Darkness). They have incontrovertible concluded that, contrary to the assertion of Hugo Chavez, President Bush is not the Devil."

The mission of the National Association of Evangelicals is to extend the kingdom of God through a fellowship of member denominations, churches, organizations, and individuals, demonstrating the unity of the body of Christ by standing for biblical truth, speaking with a representative voice, and serving the evangelical community through united action, cooperative ministry, and strategic planning.

"Beware the beast man, for he is the Devil's pawn.
Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed.
Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land.
Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours.

Shun him, for he is the Harbinger of Death."

16. Just sent the NAE this e-mail:

Dear Carolyn,

I read with interest the results of the NAE's study proving that, contrary to Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez's accusation, president Bush is not Satan. I am grateful that there are theological experts looking into these wild assertions.

However, given the cult-like reverence with which president Bush is viewed by many of his supporters, particularly among the evangelical movement, I feel there may be another misconception that your organisation could help to clear up. Would it be possible to carry out another study aimed at proving to these people once and for all that president Bush is not the second coming of Jesus Christ?

Regards,

18. ROTFLMAO - that is too good
I was just sitting here thinking, after reading your post, that I should be real concerned that I live in a country where a significant portion of the population, who make a claim to be educated, doesn't get what a euphemism is.

Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath either.

19. Bush isn't Christ. Bush isthe Anti-Christ, and there's proof
Edited on Fri Sep-22-06 05:07 AM by krispos42
He snorted cocaine ... He dodged the draft....His friends knew him as an alcoholic womanizer with a bad temper....a complete failure at business until his wealthy friends rescued him. Yet within a few short years he was elected Governor of Texas, and quickly catapulted into the White House in spite of losing the popular vote. Then he was re-elected with last minute help from Osama Bin Laden, in spite of high disapproval ratings. He still couldn't think his way out of a wet paper bag without the advice of his staff .....and yet he's been able to declare an endless war and institute some of the most radical changes in American history ....

....... How has He done it?

I submit to you that George Walker Bush is the ANTI-CHRIST. The violence and destruction that began when Bush first entered office, is now certain to culminate in the apocalypse, as predicted in the Bible over 2,000 years ago.

12. Hmm, so why has he avoided Inglis, FL?
Don't know how many times the campaigner-in-chief has been to FL, but I don't remember **him ever having visited Inglis.

Could there be a connection? Inquiring minds and all that... :silly:

Florida town casts out Satan

January 29, 2002 Posted: 2:15 PM EST (1915 GMT)

Inglis Mayor Carolyn Risher said September 11 terror attacks
inspired her to compose a proclamation banning Satan from her town.

INGLIS, Florida (CNN) -- If he's thinking of visiting Florida's west coast, Satan might want to steer clear of Inglis.

The mayor of this small fishing village in Florida has declared the Prince of Darkness persona non grata -- in essence, telling him to go to the devil.

"Satan, ruler of darkness, giver of evil, destroyer of what is good and just, is not now, nor ever again will be, a part of this town of Inglis," Mayor Carolyn Risher says in a proclamation, which was issued on official town stationery.

22. As for him being just another enslaved minion of Satan...
They're not so sure.

So, in 2 days they went through almost 2000 years of church dogma, and the entire Bible?

Even Evelyn Wood is wondering how they pulled that one off.
