4. Isn't Judiciary Committee still holding hearings on NSA, though?
He's probably just backtracking for his comment on George S.'s show.

7. Specter said he was having Attorney General
Gonzales for the one-day hearing (I believe the hearing is to be on Monday, February 6). He said something like he hoped to have more hearings with other witnesses. HAH!

17. He makes it sound like something you get elected to
As if every two years or so you are "up for impeachment".

Or is it like being "up" for the football game. Like we've got to get him motivated to face impeachment or something. What odd phraseology.

13. I listened to the clip of Snarlin Arlen
He did say "Remedy is Impeachment" with a about a dozen conditions and caveats.

Nailing him down on that statement is like nailing wet toilet paper to the wall.

10. The Specter Gambit:
1. Call yourself a moderate

2. Express outrage over the actions taken by a president

3. If president is a Dem, move to hold them accountable. If president is an R, declare that "upon reviewing all the FACTS, I believe that nothing wrong/illegal happened here."

SOP for this POS.

11. How does he explain the Buffalo speech?
If Bush was acting in "good faith" why did he ought right LIE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE at his 2004 election event in Buffalo NY?!?

Sorry Arlen, it sounds like you've hit on a 2006 version of your Single Bullet Theory.

:grr:

14. 'isn't up for impeachment'? What, he broke a shoe string?
Can't play impeachment cuz he has important presidentin' to do? We aren't asking if it is a good time to go to the movies. The man broke the law. He admitted he broke the law. He said he intends to continue breaking the law! Then his AG stumbles along, pretending the executive branch can make AND rule on law, and said it was OK, breaking the law wasn't really breaking the LAW/

My earworm today is the last line from a few salsa commercials! But we'll have a trial first an' all!

16. That would imply an "oopsie" followed by an "Okay, I'll stop"
But Bush hasn't admitted that there even was an "oopsie" and has said that he will not stop. How is that a good faith error?

The least Spector could do is come up with something that makes sense. But what do I expect from Mr. "Magic Bullet."

21. Mr. "Magic-Bullet Theory" often says what's on his mind, only to be
reigned in by his Masters,so he must always make corrections/updates/qualifications to his statements afterwards. He sold his soul a LONG time ago.

23. Specter should Never be Believed or trusted.
His political bones were made on covering up the Kennedy assassination. How vile is that????

Remember his disgusting treatment of Anita Hill? Specter asked Hill two different questions and when she replied in two different ways, Specter went on and on and on in front of any TV camera and accused Hill of perjury over and over and over again.

Specter's "moderate" facade is just another media-created illusion.

26. It's not about good faith - it's about bad judgement...
and the decision to break the law was not done on faith. It was done intentionally, knowing it was against the law. They had asked the Senate to approve the language approving the eavesdropping and were turned down, so they did it anyway..
