1. One question
So, how many civilians has Chavez gotten killed?

Can you define "worse." In what sense?

In being a bloviating bag of hot air? In getting civilians killed in a war of choice? Of being a socialist? Of being a self-serving media whore? What do you mean by worse?

4. what do you mean by no worse. someone show me what
chavez has done? give me facts. who has he oppressed, who has he killed, what war did he start, which economy did he rape with his cronies?

come on. facts.

i judge everyone on what THEY HAVE DONE. Not what they say and not what people say about them and not on perceptions. JUST THE FACTS.

And thus far the facts on chavez is he is a pretty decent human, and bush is not.

7. I think Chavez was accurate
to refer to George as El Diablo. Bush should be in jail, Chavez shouldn't be.

That usually does not require explanation.

19. Please provide a few links from a reliable source, Mr. Gaspee
Edited on Fri Sep-22-06 02:46 PM by Jack Rabbit
Opposition newspapers in Venezuela are not reliable. The word of a Bush Bubbah pundit, whether John Gibson on FoxNews or David Brooks in The New York Times, is not reliable.

I'm not defending Chávez. The way he expressed his thoughts at the UN the other day was abominable. I do not agree with everything Chávez says or does. Some of his rhetoric is wearing thin with me, even if, broading speaking, I find myself in agreement with the sentiment behind it.

President Chávez has never led Venezuela into war with a pack of lies. Mr. Bush has. It remains one of the major crimes of modern times and he should be tried, convicted and imprisoned for the rest of his natural life.

21. Duh
I wasn't talking about Chavez. in most of the examples I gave, I was talking about Bush.

I'm actually a big fan of Hugo Chavez. But worse has no meaning when not given a context. I don't think the question is valid.

More important than what Chavez said was the crowd's reaction to what he said. Why isn't that being discussed. Dude got a standing ovation. Whether you are a Chavez fan or not, the world's reaction to him cannot be ignored. It speaks volumes about the US and our future. You can have the strongest army in the world and you're going to lose if the rest of the world allies against the threat you pose.

I'm one of those dangerous atheists, so instead of calling bush the devil, I would turn around his words and call him evil.

For I truly believe he is evil. Evil is as evil does. Words count for little; actions are what matter. And Bush is a mass murderer and belongs on trial right next to Hussein.

6. The US staged a failed coup against Chavez
The US has started an illegal war.

Rummy compared Chavez to Hitler.

Chavez has been outspoken about the atrocities that the US has committed.

Chavez has not invaded any countries.

Chavez is a democratically elected leader (you know, that whole "freedom and democracy" thing).

Americans need to drop this "America can do no harm" attitude and face the facts.

15. Who has a bigger death count? Who has more secret prisons? Who has the...
backing of the military industrial complex? Who curries favor with the war profiteers? Who is a war profiteer? Who attacks the interests of the common man? Who sends the children of the common man to die for the rich man's bottom line? Who supports giving billions away to corporations in the form of tax cuts and cuts spending on education, VA benefits, and health care? Which one is the man who rapes entire countries and peoples in the name of power and control?

Who does this? Hugo Chavez? Or George W. Bush?
