Washington D.C. Dec. 29, Fox News: Resident George W. Bush, has announced that begiinning right after the first of the new year, he will, to avoid trouble later, make up the Air National Guard meetings that he missed in Texas and Alabama.
Bush will be attached to a Maryland ANG unit in Silver Spring, Md. where he will serve for two nights every week until his commitment is completed. Inasmuch as this was a spur of the moment decision, there was not an officer's uniform available in his size (Cadet) and so, he will be required to wear the OD's of an airman 3rd class. Also, since the unit that agreed to allow him to join, has no vacancies, Mr Bush will perform various jobs on the base at the pleasure of Master Sergeant Arlo Whatnebble.
It had been hoped that he would be able to resume his flight duties as a jet pilot but since the US Air National Guard no longer flies the planes he has been checked out in, and the US Air Force refused to give him one of theirs, his primary work will be on the ground as a bag boy at the PX or in the mess hall where the diswasher has been in disrepair since Easter.
Mr Bush will, of necessity, have to curtail many of his diplomatic duties like clandestine meetings with Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfelf and Condoleesa Rice and there will be no more State Dinners for the time being.
Mr Bush says it is his patriotic duty an d besides, his wife, First Lady Laura says she loves a man in uniform.
