We are no better than the other countries of the world
who advocate torture.

We no longer have the right to tell these countries that what they are doing is wrong, immoral and inhumane. We can no longer have the stance and point fingers at others who treat their citizens and POWs with such indiginity.

We have become one of them. We no longer have the right to have the high ground as we have just become as low as they are.

That is if this "Torture Bill" is passed.

PS: Can't really say what I want right now as I have a terrible cold.

5. exactly
Nothing has ever set America a part from any other country

just a really good government PR system that pushed the idea and conditioned generations into believing it

3. Since we invaded a country w/out merit, that's when we became the enemy!
IMHO!!!

We have lost all dignity today...when a man who was tortured himself stands up and approves it, we have become our own worst enemy!

4. We're worse - at least they don't act like they're "noble"
It's the hypocrisy that's stunning.

6. Our ideals that this country was founded on
have become pretty much moot since Bush has taken office. People have looked up to these ideals for years, that we fought for for years and now these ideals are being torn down piece by piece by this cabal who think of nothing but themselves, money and their power.

These powermongering people will not stop at anything, if this bill has passed or will pass, it's just going to go downhill from here. What's next? Slavery?

I only hope that the Dems do win in Nov and clean up this mess.
