Stung by criticism, Bush calls for worldwide offensive
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/060930/1/43rly.html

"US President George W. Bush called for fighting America's enemies "across the world" as he stepped up his counteroffensive following charges that his policies were breeding a new generation of Islamic terrorists.

The call, delivered in his weekly radio address, was aimed to counter a rash of accusations that the Bush administration had seriously mishandled the war in Iraq and created fertile political ground for Islamic extremism."

Yay! The world is ours!

16. Is it lost on anyone, other than a lame mid-day segment of
CNN International, if you only watched The M$M Television News, the rest of The World Community does NOT exist? Or if the M$M reports a tragedy they quickly turn it around like arrogant and frightened school children: Oh My God, what if this happened in the USA?!?

On our television sets, we rarely see anything that isn't generated in the USA or effects the USA. It always is in the opinion of The Wall Street Journal or that of boorish and arrogant Nationalistic sentiments ... a little jingoism on the side? :puke:

The Average American Citizen has been so dumbed-down by LIES, DISTRACTIONS and JINGOISM, many of them are as disgustingly arrogant as The Executive Branch. That is, they believe that the rest of the world EXISTS to serve the USA.

Not all Americans, but the fact that we get *very little* news about what effects or interests the rest of the world, we can only take a genuine interest IF WE REALIZE that the M$M is blacking their opinions out for THAT VERY REASON.

Yes, we need to break up the media in order to provide diversity. I want to know what's going on in the rest of the world communities, but we won't as long as these bloated media conglomerates control our choices - like NO decent choices. :(

17. you're right
thru my cable tv I received Skynews Australia - not too bad considering it is owned by Murdoch, Fox News, cnnI, and BBC.

This difference in content between Fox and the other 3 is chalk and cheese. Foxs' international segment is something like 80 secs long; and this includes the 'human interest' story.

The other 3 are real news most of the time. That with your vast amount of cable space and companies it is a sad inditement of America's self interest that BBC and CNNI are either not broadcast or broadcast in very limited markets.

12. D-R-A-F-T
I asked my hippie-era Mother what finally got this country off it's collective ass in the 60's:
The Draft.

You'll see this WOT wrap up real fast if selective service goes back into business.

15. Global anti-American feelings may take decades to fix
From yesterday:

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060929/NATION/609290345/1020

"It may take decades to change anti-American feelings around the world that have been aggravated by war in Iraq, U.S. policy toward Israel and America's "sex and violence" culture, the State Department official in charge of dealing with the U.S. image abroad said Thursday.
"The anti-Americanism, the concern around the world ... this ideological struggle, it's not going to change" quickly, Undersecretary of State Karen Hughes said in an interview with the Associated Press. "It's going to be the work of years and maybe decades."
