My religious service was protested today
I went to pride today in Durham NC. Our pride festival contains a religious service which got interrupted by protesters. Three men and a child attended the service and then started to read the Bible while we were getting Communion. We had to have Sherriffs deputies keep us apart and finally we had to sing Amazing Grace to get them to stop and one even ran off. Then they went across the street and set up sound equipment and sermonized us for over an hour. Finally they had to stop when a lawyer pointed out they didn't have a sound permit. So they used signs instead. It was a little intense.

1. This sort of thing pisses me off
I got told three times this week that I'm not a Christian. Who do these people think they are?! Good for you, for demonstrating that gays can be religious, and vice versa!

8. Real christians wouldn't do that and the real ones would...
stand up and be heard denouncing these jerks. Silence when someone is representing a group you belong too implies support! Whether you asked them to represent you or not - these fools say they are christians so that morally obligates the real ones to step forward.

12. These Christians start wars, hate, kill & torture people.
They think the poor, homeless & starving are a source of humor. They think love & sex are evil; that fear and the spread of disease is good. Their highest sacrament is accumulating wealth, and if they can do it to someone else's detriment so much the better.

What makes you think you are their kind of Christian? Why would you want to be?

13. Preachers protested Pagan Pride this year
in my hometown.

I didn't attend but I was reading the e-mails from the group. Apparently this "Christian" group came in and started proselytizing and handing out flyers.

One of the attendees noted that when he left the flyers that were on the cars were all gone.
