As a lawyer who has had to deal with lots of stupid things people put in emails, I've never seen anything THIS stupid: "better not to put this stuff in writing. . . because it might limit what they (the Bush administration) can do to help us, especially since there could be lawsuits etc."

Seems Abramoff wanted to stop Interior from giving a gaming license to a tribe that would compete with "all our supporters (read: contributors) down there."

And as a poster put on the link above, remember, these are the people who hate government. Probably because they know how easy it is to steal the government blind.

And also check out the post about it taking 6 days to get Bush to NY for the bullhorn moment because they couldn't pick the perfect backdrop, just enough rubble but not too much (might not be true but I would not put it past them.)
